Hump Day: Loser Rankings for December 23

1. St. Louis Rams- They need a quarterback...Then again, they need a lot of things.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They own the tiebreaker advantage over Detroit because they've scored only 214 points for the season.

3. Detroit Lions- They did hold their own against Arizona. They have at least one more win in them.

4. Kansas City Chiefs- They did lose to the Browns.

5. Washington Redskins- When you do something stupid like the fake field goal you tried to pull off on Monday Night Football, you end up on this list. Plus, it helps that Cleveland has won two straight games.

Hump Day Loser Rankings: Hey we're freezing here

1. Detroit Lions- When you lose by more than 40 points, you tend to find yourself get to the top of the list a lot faster than usual. The Lions leapfrogged everyone.

2. St. Louis Rams- The Rams got rid of Richie Incognito after his two personal foul calls in Sunday's loss to the Titans. The bad news is that the Rams need to sell 8,000 tickets or they face a tv blackout. Such a shame too, because they're wearing their throwback unis.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Bucs seem to be defying the logic I've set for them. I am a bit embarrassed, but hey I know when I'm wrong.

4. Kansas City Chiefs- Ordinarily they would be at the No. 5 spot, but Cleveland won against Pittsburgh.

5. Cleveland Browns- See No. 4.

Hump Day: Some early December Loser Rankings

1. Cleveland Browns- They just keep falling apart. They're the lowest scoring team out of all the 1-10 teams. But the worst news for the Browns has to be the loss of Shaun Rogers for the season. He was probably their only star. Things just look awful for Cleveland. I am still interested in the Browns GM position (hint drop).

2. St. Louis Rams- The Rams actually had a decent shot against the Seahawks, but it didn't work out. The good news for them is that they get a freefalling Chicago Bears team.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- I hate putting this team at #3 because they've been playing great football as of late. Josh Freeman is probably blooming flower for the Bucs. He has 793 yards passing, along with seven TD passes in five games this season. I hope he can keep this up, because Tampa needs something to look forward to.

4. Detroit Lions- Just wasn't meant to be their season. It happens you know!

5. Oakland Raiders- They're the lowest scoring team in the NFL. How can the Raiders not be on this list?

Hump Day: A Fresh Batch of Loser Rankings

1. Cleveland Browns- This might be the only team in the league that hasn't shown any signs of improvement over the course of the season. There is some good news (and there isn't any car insurance involved). The Browns get to face our #2 team on this list on Sunday.

2. Detroit Lions- Matthew Stafford hasn't had a lot of luck this season. In seven games this season, he's completed six touchdown passes and thrown 12 interceptions. But then again, it's the Lions and there isn't a lot of talent on the team outside of Calvin Johnson. The good news for the Lions is that they get to face the Browns this week.

3. Oakland Raiders- They did lose to the Chiefs this week. Could the JaMarcus Russell era be over in Oakland? With two touchdown passes and nine interceptions, it looks like Bruce Gradkowski could get his shot at the starting job. But then again, it's the Raiders. Either way, we'll find out later this afternoon.

4. St. Louis Rams- I hate putting this team at #4, especially after how well they played against the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, they're the lowest scoring team in the NFC. That said, the Rams are still playing some great football. They get Arizona at home this Sunday.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- This is another team playing great football right now. They won against the Packers and almost beat the Dolphins. Josh Freeman has thrown for four touchdown passes and 401 yards in two starts this season.

Hump Day: A New Loser's Rankings

1. Detroit Lions- The Lions are freefalling and it's a bit amusing to watch. Michael Rosenberg of the Detroit Free Press thinks it is possible for the Lions to win three straight. Maybe they can!

2. Kansas City Chiefs- They got rid of Larry Johnson on Monday. This process of rebuilding will be taking a while. Matt Cassel played a lot better after the bye week, passing for 262 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to Jacksonville. Things could be looking up, but who knows.

3. Cleveland Browns- The Browns had a bye week. If they were smart, they'd be taking on some high school teams to prepare for their next game.

4. St. Louis Rams- Okay, so they got a bye week as well, but they did win their last game. Maybe they can take the rest of the season off.

5. Washington Redskins- To be fair, the Bucs did win their first game and it wasn't against the Lions. It was against the PACKERS!!! PARTY!!!

Hump Day: Your Loser Rankings for First Week of November

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They're the only NFL team without a win this season. They get Green Bay this week. Josh Freeman makes his first NFL start this Sunday. Maybe he can get Tampa their first win too.

2. Cleveland Browns- They got rid of GM George Kokinis. That said, I announced on Twitter that I was interested in the GM position. I still am Mr. Lerner. I have qualifications...Okay maybe not, but still, I can't do any worse than before.

3. St. Louis Rams- I knew they would win at some point. Every team has to win. The Lions did it earlier this year and now the Rams are in the win column.

4. Detroit Lions- The Lions find themselves back on the list. The honeymoon is over. You guys are 1-6.

5. Kansas City Chiefs- The Chiefs won a spot over the Titans this week because the Titans won over Jacksonville.

The season standings are put off until the end of the season, when we declare our winner...I mean loser.

Hump Day: Week 7 Loser Rankings

1. St. Louis Rams- So I have no idea when the Rams will win a game again. Maybe they can win against Detroit this week.

2. Tennessee Titans- Well the Titans didn't lose this week...but they didn't win either.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They couldn't strike it big in England. The good news for Tampa is that they won't be playing this weekend. This gives Tampa time to get Josh Freeman ready to start against Green Bay.

4. Cleveland Browns- Things are just flat out awful in Cleveland. Can things get any worse?

5. Washington Redskins- The picture says it all. Monday's game was just ugly. The turnovers were uglier. Let's face it, there is no alibi for this team.

Hump Day: October 21 Loser Rankings

1. St. Louis Rams- I pick you guys for an upsetter and you win! Got it! So now the Rams have lost 16 straight. Could it get any worse?

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They'll be putting in Josh Freeman at some point. Maybe this week?

3. Tennessee Titans- So the Titans could easily be #1 on this list if only because of the 59-0 loss to the Patriots.

4. Cleveland Browns- What can we say about the Browns that hasn't already been said?

5. Washington Redskins- When you lose to an "0-for" team, you end up on the list. When you lose to Kansas City, they get off the list for a week and you get on the list for the week. It's science people!

Still working on getting a proper points system set up. I'll put it this way though, the Rams are running away with the lead. They should be ready by week 8.

Hump Day: The Loser Rankings- October 14

Here we are at another week.

1. St. Louis Rams- Well they're still quite bad. Who knows what will be of this Limbaugh talk?

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- So how did Josh Johnson work out last Sunday?

3. Tennessee Titans- I had faith in this team when they started 0-3. That faith is pretty much gone. Two questions remain: how worse can this season get for the Titans? And how long before Kerry Collins is out as starting quarterback?

4. Kansas City Chiefs- If it wasn't for Miles Austin and his 250 yard receiving day, the Chiefs would have a win already.

5. Buffalo Bills- When you lose 6-3 to the Browns you belong on the list for the week.

Hump Day: The Loser Rankings- October 7, 2009

So here we are at another week of the Loser's Rankings. And good news for Lions fans, they're not on the list. Can't say the same about the teams on this list now.

1. St. Louis Rams- You know you got it bad when Rush Limbaugh wants to buy your team.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Bucs did release Mike Nugent on Tuesday...Maybe things will look up for them?

3. Cleveland Browns- They could easily be #1, but there's still a long season ahead. It could be much longer for Braylon Edwards though.

4. Tennessee Titans- They lost three close games. However, the Titans lost by 20 points to Jacksonville. I think you can understand why they're on this list now...right?

5. Kansas City Chiefs- Probably should be at #4 or higher, but they're not.

Hump Day: The Loser Rankings- The Aztec Tomb Edition

So here we are with another day for the Losers. However, this week, we're doing something different. We're going to take a look at all the teams that are currently 0-3. Is there hope still or should these teams just jump in the Aztec Tomb. Who's first!?

Miami Dolphins- So the Dolphins have no Chad Pennington for the season and their new starting quarterback is Chad Henne. But wait, the Dolphins traded for Tyler Thigpen on Tuesday.

The Dolphins are in the middle of the pack when it comes to offense and defense ranks. They have back-to-back home games. If the Dolphins split those games, they'll be 1-4 going into the bye week. The remaining non-division schedule includes Pittsburgh and New Orleans. However, the Dolphins also have games against other 0-3 teams like the Bucs, Titans and Panthers.

Verdict: I don't see the Dolphins making the playoffs, but they will win six games. So no tomb for the Dolphins.

Cleveland Browns- Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn? The problem for this team goes much deeper than the quarterback controversy. They're at the bottom of the NFL in offense and 30th defense. Things have gone from bad to worse. The Mangini Magic is not working. They have Cincy this week. The Browns have Green Bay, Chicago and San Diego still on the schedule.

Verdict: Get in the tomb! The Browns will go 2-14.

St. Louis Rams- The Rams are averaging 8 points per game. Steve Spagnulo probably should have held out for a better job. But it is what it is. They get San Francisco and Minnesota next. They have Indy, Chicago and New Orleans still left in their non-division schedule.

Verdict: Rams will go 1-15. I think it's safe for them to get in the tomb.

Tennessee Titans- All three of the Titans losses were by a combined 13 points. They've kept it close, but not close enough. Good news though Titans fans, they face Jacksonville on Sunday. New England and San Diego are on the schedule, as well as the Rams and the Dolphins.

Verdict: This might be the best 0-3 team out of the entire group. They won't win 13 games, but they still have a shot at .500. They do have the ability to go 9-7.

Kansas City Chiefs- They lost to the Raiders, which was their only winnable game. They also lost to Baltimore and Philadelphia (granted it was against Kevin Kolb). They have the Giants and the Cowboys for their next two games. The division isn't very strong (do you really think the Broncos are good enough to win the division?).

Verdict: Todd Haley will be lucky to win seven games for the Chiefs. I see them going 6-10, but no Aztec Box.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Josh Johnson starts on Sunday for the Bucs. There isn't a lot of bright spots for this team. They have Washington and Philly next. They still have the Jets and Patriots.

Verdict: 4-12, go ahead and get in the Aztec Tomb.

Carolina Panthers: Where do I begin? I have no idea what to think about this team. They should be good, but they're not...It's a bye for the Panthers this week (and it comes at a great time). They have Miami, Buffalo, Minnesota and both New York teams. It just doesn't look that good.

Verdict: 5-11, 6-10 sounds possible. I don't see it being any worse than 3-13 though.

I'll have a Loser Ranking next week for sure though.

The Loser Rankings: Week 2

1. St. Louis Rams- They lost 9-7 to a Washington. They've also been outscored 37-7 in two games. Things don't look very good.

2. Detroit Lions- 19 straight! My offer still stands Lions. If you win one game, you're off the list for sure by the next week.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Is the end drawing near for head coach Jack Del Rio? It's a road game this week, but maybe Jacksonville fans would prefer that the game was blacked out.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Central Florida is in for a long, long year.

5. Cleveland Browns- They did lose to the Broncos, ya know!

So many teams could be in the top five. Next week, we bring out the Aztec Tomb, for those teams that will start the season 0-3.

The Loser Rankings: Electic Boogaloo Edition

So it's a new season, and we take a look at the worst teams after week 1. Don't read too much into the first couple of weeks of the Rankings. Please keep that in mind.


1. St. Louis Rams- They went 2-14 last season and they got shut out in an ugly game against division foe Seattle Seahawks. Things aren't looking good for the Rams this season.

2. Detroit Lions- The Lions have lost 18 straight games, dating back to the 2007 season. It makes sense that they'd be on this list.

3. Buffalo Bills- It was an ugly preseason for the Bills. And while they were leading on Monday night against the Patriots, they couldn't close the game out. This will not be a pretty season.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- I'll let this play say my thoughts about the Bengals at four.

5. Cleveland Browns- They hung in there with the Vikings for a half. Then Adrian Peterson ran them over.

Hump Day: Final Loser Rankings of the season

Here we are, the last week for the loser rankings. We'll have the week 17 losers and then the final top five.

1. Detroit Lions- This really comes as no surprise. Any team that finishes the regular season 0-16 really does belong at number one. It's just common sense! I thought they could win one game, but sadly I was wrong. And while I do believe in the spirit of the Loser Rankings, no team should ever go winless. You have to put forth the effort to win at least one game.

2. Kansas City Chiefs- This team had such high hopes. I believed in this team and they fell apart. Hopefully they can get their act together for next season. The Chiefs have a lot of good talent. They're better than their record.

3. St. Louis Rams- The Rams just flat out had a bad year. Maybe something will change for the better.

4. Seattle Seahawks- This was just a bad year. I really think Mike Holmgren deserved a better year than this one.

5. Denver Broncos- You might be wondering why I don't have the Bengals on here, or even the Browns! The Broncos had a chance to wrap up the AFC West title for several weeks. They kept losing and losing. On Sunday night, they lost to the Chargers and were ultimately eliminated from any shot in the playoffs. As a result, Mike Shanahan was fired on Tuesday.


Now for the final season standings:

1. Detroit Lions- 73 points
2. Cincinnati Bengals- 42 points
3. Kansas City Chiefs- 39 points
4. St. Louis Rams- 33 points
5. Oakland Raiders- 12 points


Final Analysis: I know Raider fans are probably upset about being in the top five. They really did step it up towards the end. However, they did struggle and have some tough losses. I say be thankful they're in fifth. The Lions, were the clear runaway for this season. When you go 0-16, it makes perfect sense to have the highest points. The Bengals found themselves off of the top five for the final week of the season. I tip my hat to them. They really stepped it up towards the end.

Hump Day: Loser Rankings-- Teams seem to be playing spoiler

1. Detroit Lions- They got blown away by the Saints on Sunday. They now get to go to Lambeau Field to play the Packers.

2. Kansas City Chiefs- They lost a close one to the Dolphins. It was indeed an epic battle, but it wasn't enough.

3. St. Louis Rams- They blew a close one at home to the 49ers.

4. Cleveland Browns- We welcome Cleveland to this week's edition. They have lost five straight games. This team has fallen off the face of the earth, which is conveniently where we are located.

5. Cincinnati Bengals- The Bengals are playing good football right now. They've won two straight games. However, they're still in the top five because they're 3-11-1. Sorry Bengals fans!


Now time for the regular season standings:

1. Detroit Lions- 68 points- Clinched First Place

2. Cincinnati Bengals- 42 points- Clinched Second Place

3. Kansas City Chiefs- 35 points

4. St. Louis Rams- 30 points

5. Oakland Raiders- 12 points


Analysis: This is the official top five for the season. The Raiders will officially have the top spot wrapped up. Seattle has won two straight games, so it seems unlikely we'll see them on the top five for next week. I still have that deal for Detroit if they want to win a game, so it's not too late. The battle for now seems to still be 3rd place. Who knows what will happen? The Rams get the Falcons who are fighting for the division and possibly the second seed in the NFC. Enjoy the final week of the season.

Hump Day: The second to last Loser Rankings of the season

1. Detroit Lions- Once again, they came close but fell short against the Colts. They have New Orleans at home on Sunday and go to Green Bay for the final game of the season. I still think the Lions are going to win a game this season. It just isn't possible to go 0-16 in the NFL. I could be wrong, but we'll see.

2. Kansas City Chiefs- A fourth quarter collapse caused this team to move into second place for the week. Also, Carl Peterson announced that he will resign at the end of the season.

3. St. Louis Rams- The other Missouri team has moved up a spot after losing as well. They lost to the Seahawks.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- The Bengals beat the Redskins. Here's something for you to digest: The Bengals have given up 358 points this season. The NFC West champion Arizona Cardinals have also given up 358 points. That's a crazy stat now!

5. Oakland Raiders- They've won more games on the road than they have at home. The question of the hour is, who will be the next coach of the Raiders?


Now the regular season standings:


1. Detroit Lions- 63 points

2. Cincinnati Bengals- 41 points

3. Kansas City Chiefs- 31 points

4. St. Louis Rams- 27 points

5. Oakland Raiders- 12 points

Analysis: The top four teams have all clinched a spot in the loser rankings. Detroit's clnched first place. Cincy has second place. The battle for third continues between KC and St. Louis. The Raiders don't have fifth place wrapped up, but they could after this weekend. The Raiders have Houston. Seattle is still in sixth place and they get the Jets and Arizona for their final two games. The Jets game will be tougher.

The Lions still have a chance to fall out of next week's rankings with a win.

Hump Day: The Loser Rankings-- December 9, 2008

Let's get cracking.

1. Detroit Lions- They came close to winning their first game of the season against the Vikings. Now they have the Colts. There is no way the Lions can go 0-16. They have to win a game at some point.

2. Cincinnati Bengals- In three straight losses, the Bengals have scored a combined 16 points. The Bengals are the worst scoring offense in the league. It is just pitiful.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- They battled with the Broncos, but fell short. Here's a fun fact--The Chiefs have the fourth least penalties in the AFC. When you compare the Chiefs with the Titans, who have the third most penalties in the league, you can't help but wonder why the Chiefs are 2-11.

4. St. Louis Rams- They got blown away by the Cardinals. This team just doesn't have it going right now. The Rams need something.

5. Seattle Seahawks- The Seahawks are another team that isn't having a very good year. It's been awful. It's weird to see them struggle.


Now for the season standings.

1. Detroit Lions- 58 points

2. Cincinnati Bengals- 39 points

3. Kansas City Chiefs- 27 points

4. St. Louis Rams- 24 points

5. Oakland Raiders- 11 points


Analysis: Nobody seems to be catching the Lions at this point. However, if the Lions win this week against the Colts, they will drop in the standings and might even fall out of the top five for the week. We have an interesting battle for third place as we see the Chiefs and Rams battle for the right to determine who is the ultimate loser in Missouri. Will anybody bump the Raiders from fifth place? The closest candidate right now is the Seahawks. They have seven points right now. If the Seahawks lose to the Rams on Sunday, they will switch places with the Rams, scoring a potential two points for the week.

Hump Day: More Loser Rankings

1. Detroit Lions- They got blown away on Thanksgiving. It certainly doesn't help their cause to hold on to their Thanksgiving Day game. I think Rod Marinelli will be gone after this season.

2. Cincinnati Bengals- They have Indy and Washington in their next two games. Their final two games are at Cleveland and against Kansas City. I think they can win at least one more game, but the train is leaving and I get the feeling Marvin Lewis is leaving town.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- They got their second win, but they're still in third place in the rankings. Herm Edwards will stay on board.

4. St. Louis Rams- Arizona, Seattle, San Francisco and Atlanta are left on the schedule. I think the Rams can get one more win. Jim Haslett, will probably not stay on.

5. Seattle Seahawks- They get Matt Cassel and the Patriots next, however I think the Patriots only win by 20 points.


Now time for the Loser of the Year rankings...

1. Detroit Lions- 53 points

2. Cincinnati Bengals- 35 points

3. Kansas City Chiefs- 24 points

4. St. Louis Rams- 22 points

5. Oakland Raiders- 11 points

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Raiders fall from the fifth spot soon. The Lions have to win out in order to not finish the season number one.

The Loser Rankings- Getting Ready for the Loser of the Year Award

We're getting close to the homestretch of this 2008 season and it's almost the awards season here at Oh No Romo. That said, we have the Loser Team of the Year, which is the first time we are doing this award. We'll check the point standings after the current top five for the week.

1. Detroit Lions- They have to win sometime.

2. Cincinnati Bengals- It's been a bad year. Just horrid.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- I don't know what to think anymore.

4. St. Louis Rams- The state of Missouri can't be happy with its teams.

5. Seattle Seahawks- The only team out West that is doing the worst to be on this list.


Now time for the point watch. First place each week gets 5 points, second gets 4, third gets 3, fourth gets 2, fifth gets 1. Here's the top five to look out for.

1. Detroit Lions 48 points.

2. Cincinnati Bengals- 31 points.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- 21 points.

4. St Louis Rams- 20 points.

5. Oakland Raiders- 11 points.

The Lions appear to be a clear runaway favorite. Of course, that's what happens when you're 0-10. Maybe the Bengals can make a run at them, but I doubt it.

The Loser Rankings: Week 11 Edition

So here we are, at another week. Yahdah dahdah dee do!

1. Detroit Lions- Is there ever an end in sight to their losing? Could things get any worse? We at Oh No Romo think so, especially since Jesse McCartney is performing at halftime for the Thanksgiving Game.

2. Cincinnati Bengals- They had a bye week, but hey they're still in the top two.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- If they just convert a 2-point conversion, they might be at no.-5. But hey, at least Tyler Thigpen is playing great football.

4. Oakland Raiders- The Raiders are the worst scoring offense in the NFL.

5. Everybody not named the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West- You can make a case for the 49ers, Seahawks and Rams, but why try to?
