Hump Day: Week 7 Loser Rankings

1. St. Louis Rams- So I have no idea when the Rams will win a game again. Maybe they can win against Detroit this week.

2. Tennessee Titans- Well the Titans didn't lose this week...but they didn't win either.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They couldn't strike it big in England. The good news for Tampa is that they won't be playing this weekend. This gives Tampa time to get Josh Freeman ready to start against Green Bay.

4. Cleveland Browns- Things are just flat out awful in Cleveland. Can things get any worse?

5. Washington Redskins- The picture says it all. Monday's game was just ugly. The turnovers were uglier. Let's face it, there is no alibi for this team.

Tuesdays with Romo: Meh

Philadelphia Eagles 27 - Washington Redskins 17- This game was just not that good. It was a bit exciting in the first half, but even that didn't last long. Both teams didn't play great. Last night was one of those games that couldn't end fast enough. I felt myself losing my mind in the second half. Jason Campbell passed for 246 yards in the loss.

There's not much that can really be said about the game. I think everyone has just checked out mentally in regards to this game. Even the ESPN guys are tired. See you guys on Wednesday.

The Mondays: 59 points? Impressive!

New England Patriots 59 - Tennessee Titans 0- 59 points in an NFL game is tough to score. It's especially tougher when there's snow falling in October. Somehow, the Patriots like to score when the snow falls. Tom Brady threw six touchdown passes and they took him out of the game early. The Patriots had 32 first downs, as opposed to nine for the Titans. So when does Vince Young get his shot?

New Orleans Saints 48 - New York Giants 27- This was a statement game for the Saints. They needed to win on Sunday to prove that they're for real in the NFC. As the season progresses, that win could make the difference for home field in the NFC. We'll have to wait and see though.

Kansas City Chiefs 14 - Washington Redskins 6- So the Jim Zorn train is about ready to leave the station in Washington. It's no longer if, but when. Zorn can no longer call plays on offense now, according to Pro Football Talk.

Carolina Panthers 28 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21- The Panthers get Buffalo at home next. They could be 3-3 going to Arizona.

Oakland Raiders 14 - Philadelphia Eagles 9- Huh? Sorry, I was reading about the Phillies beating the Dodgers in game 3.

Buffalo Bills 16 - New York Jets 13- The Jets have lost three straight games. Is it time to start freaking out? Personally, I think it's funny.

SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: Atlanta Falcons 21 - Chicago Bears 14- I admit, I cursed loudly on the fourth down play at the end of the game. For some backwards reason, the Falcons like beating the Bears. How about playing one in Soldier Field, eh Matty Ice? At 4-1, the Falcons are starting to prove that they are the real deal. It was a good win for them. Their next two games are road games against Dallas and New Orleans though. If they win against both teams, then they're a legit contender in the NFC.

MONDAY NIGHT PREDICTION: Denver over San Diego

NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: Washington Redskins

It's another season for Washington. What? That's all I can really say.

It's pretty much the same thing year after year for the Redskins! They underachieve with the talent they have, and either miss out on or get knocked out early in the playoffs. Then in the offseason, they go out and spend large sums of cash on a big name free agent. FYI, this offseason, the Redskins got defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

Over the years, at least in the Daniel Snyder era, the Redskins have added the likes of Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Adam Archuleta, Brandon Lloyd, Clinton Portis, Antwaan Randle-El, Andre Carter, Santana Moss, and so on. Only Portis, Randle-El and Moss have really gone on to have considerable success in D.C.

No doubt, Jim Zorn will be under pressure to get the job done in the Nation's Capitol. The honeymoon is over. It's time for him to win. Only time will tell if he can get the job done.

Death in the football family: Sammy Baugh dead at 94

Sad news to report in the world of pro football. The Associated Press is reporting that former quarterback Sammy Baugh died Wednesday night at the age of 94. Baugh reportedly had several many health issues.

Baugh played 16 seasons (1937-1952) in the NFL, all with the Washington Redskins. Baugh went to six Pro Bowls and was named All Pro four times.

Baugh won two NFL titles. He led the league in passing four times. Here are some other stats courtesy Pro Football Reference:

Passing Yards- 21,886

Touchdown Passes- 187

Completions- 1693

Interceptions- 203

Baugh also coached for three seasons. He coached for the New York Titans (now known as the Jets) and the Houston Oilers. He had a 18-24 coaching record.

Baugh is in both the college and pro football hall of fame and was named to the NFL 75th anniversary team. Here's a tribute video to Baugh.

The Mondays: Washington wants to be cool

Washington Redskins 24 - Philadelphia Eagles 17- So...are the Redskins for real? Two weeks in a row, they've knocked off a division rival on the road. That is impressive, even for NFC East standards. Coach Jim Zorn has this team firing on all cylinders. In their next three games, the Redskins will play St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit. The Redskins could easily be 7-1 at the halfway point.

Tennessee Titans 13 - Baltimore Ravens 10- How about the Titans? They are off to an excellent start. I think what needs to be asked is if Vince Young is ready to come back and play. At this point, Kerry Collins is the hot pick.

Chicago Bears 34 - Detroit Lions 7- How about that Kyle Orton fella? He threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears are in great shape. They're 3-2 and could easily be 5-0, had they not lost close cames to Carolina and Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, things are just not looking good for the Lions. Quarterback Jon Kitna was benched in the third quarter and we got our first look at Dan Orlovski. He didn't have a lot of luck.

Atlanta Falcons 27 - Green Bay Packers 24- Would you believe that the Falcons need one more win to match last season's total? It is great to see the Falcons playing good football. Matt Ryan is continuing to mature as quarterback. It helps that he has a good back in Michael Turner, who ran for 121 yards and one touchdown.

New York Giants 44 - Seattle Seahawks 6- The Giants have it going on and they don't look to be stumbling anytime soon. Eli Manning threw two touchdowns on Sunday. Something is wrong with the Seahawks. They're 1-3 to start the season. There's a lot to be concerned about in Seattle.

Denver Broncos 16 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13- The Broncos managed to play defense and won a close game.

ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys 31 - Cincinnati Bengals 22- This one shouldn't have been close, but the Cowboys did struggle. Tony Romo threw for 176 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Sunday Night Recap: Pittsburgh Steelers 26 - Jacksonville Jaguars 21- The Steelers stay strong in the AFC.

The Mondays: Emotional day for Bryant

Week four saw many great moments. Some were good, some very emotional, some even surprising.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30 - Green Bay Packers 21- This day belonged to Bucs kicker Matt Bryant, who lost his infant son unexpectedly earlier last week. Bryant kicked three key field goals, including a 24-yard go-ahead in the fourth quarter to help the Bucs win. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Bryant. He goes out on Sunday and plays. Should he have stayed home? I don't know because it is not up to me. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bryant and his wife during these tough times.

Buffalo Bills 31 - St. Louis Rams 14- The Rams are falling apart. Even the Rams know that they are unraveling. The Rams actually led this game at halftime, but they were shut out in the second half. Meanwhile, the Bills are in good shape, despite two straight scares against the Raiders and the Rams. However, a win against Arizona next week will put the Bills at 5-0 for the season, going into the bye week.

San Diego 28 - Oakland Raiders 18- So...Is Lane Kiffen going to be fired now? I give the Raiders credit, they stuck with the Chargers. This team has a lot of potential, but we'll see what happens now. I don't think Al Davis will fire him. I could be senile with that thought.

Romo Alert: Washington Redskins 26 - Dallas Cowboys 24- Okay, even I admit that I never saw this coming. The big story has to be the defense on the Cowboys side. They couldn't stop Jason Campbell in the air and they couldn't stop Clinton Portis on the ground. Are teams starting to figure out the Cowboys defense?

Sunday Night Recap: Bears defeat Eagles- I never saw this coming either. This was a defensive battle, but the offenses weren't that bad. Kyle Orton threw three touchdown passes on Sunday night, which only happens once in a blue moon. The Bears are now tied for first in the North with the win.

NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: Washington Redskins

We're halfway done with the NFC East in our NFL PREVIEW SHOW EXTRAVAGANZA!!! Today, we'll put the focus on the Washington Redskins.

The Washington Redskins made the playoffs last season. The Redskins were dealt a severe blow last year when star safety Sean Taylor died after an attempted robbery on his home. It's hard for a team to lose a player, especially one with as big of an impact on the field as Taylor had. He will sorely be missed.

The team also dealt with injuries, including one to quarterback Jason Campbell. The Redskins would bring it all together and win their final four games of the season and grabbing the final playoff spot in the NFC.

In the wild card round, the Redskins went toe-to-toe with the Seattle Seahawks. The Redskins kept it close and even took a 14-13 lead in the fourth quarter. However, the Seahawks would score three touchdowns, including two interception returns, to beat the Redskins, 35-14.

Redskins coach Joe Gibbs would retire. Neither Al Saunders nor Gregg Williams would be head coach. Instead, Seahawks quarterback coach Jim Zorn, who was originally hired as an offensive coor, would become the head coach.

Zorn's biggest challenge will be turning Jason Campbell into a star quarterback. Zorn did a lot for Matt Hasselbeck's career in Seattle and now he has a chance to do the same for Campbell.

Campbell will be entering his fourth season as quarterback, his third for starting. In 2007, Campbell threw for 2700 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Redskins will be opening up the regular season on the road, in the Meadowlands of all places. They'll face the defending Super Bowl champion, New York Giants on the opening night of the NFL season. This season, the Redskins will face Pittsburgh, Cleveland and New Orleans at home, while they face Seattle, Detroit and San Francisco on the road.

Friday Briefs: The 'Where Will Jason Taylor Go' Game

It's Friday and I don't have to go to school......For a week. Woo, a whole week off from school, only to return for summer school (my choice). With that, I'll also be taking a week off from the blog, barring any huge story breaking in the next week. So for my last post before I head home for the week, I thought I'd play a little game.

With the recent situation surround Jason Taylor and the Miami Dolphins, I figured what the hey; I'll generate some scenarios for where Jason Taylor could end up, in case he is traded or released before June 1.

So.....LET'S PLAY WHERE THE HELL WILL JASON TAYLOR GO......

Kansas City Chiefs

This move makes a lot of sense for the Chiefs. They traded away Jared Allen to the Vikings and need to fill the spot. Could you imagine Tamba Hali and Jason Taylor lining up on the ends with Glenn Dorsey at the defensive tackle spot. I'm getting all tingly just thinking about it. If the Chiefs can pull it off, that would be the biggest acquisition of the off-season.


Washington Redskins

This might be a stretch, but Dan Snyder tried to get Chad Johnson, do not think for two minutes that Snyder won't wheel and deal to try and get Taylor.

New Orleans Saints

This move would make sense for the Saints. They don't have much depth. They also have a lot of salary cap room. Taylor would give a huge boost to a struggling defense. In 2007, Charles Grant and Will Smith combined for a total of 9.5 sacks. Taylor recorded 11 sacks in 2007. I'm not saying it would be enough, but it's better than before.

Carolina Panthers

With the recent retirement of Mike Rucker, the Panthers are pinning their hopes and dreams on Tyler Brayton, who didn't start a game for Oakland in 2007, but still played 16 games. Brayton recorded only nine tackles on the season. Taylor would be a complement to fellow end, Julius Peppers. Peppers recorded a career low, 2.5 sacks in 2007. If Taylor comes to Carolina, it will be one less problem for John Fox to deal with.

Seattle Seahawks

This team is a top ten defense in the NFL. Could you imagine seeing Jason Taylor wearing a Seahawks uniform? It's flabbergasting! This team is stacked with an excellent defense from line, to secondary. Taylor could send the Seahawks to South Florida, come February.

Hump Day: Headin' down the homestretch

Would you believe that we're almost done with our 16 game preview of the 2008 NFL season? Well believe it! On Monday, we gave a look at weeks 11 and 12. Today, we will take a look at weeks 13 and 14.

Week 13 will be significant because that's when Thanksgiving is. Three games are scheduled on Thanksgiving. However, I only plan on profiling one. So I'll give you the other two. They are: Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions- 12:30 PM ET on CBS and Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles- 8:15 PM ET on NFL Network

Here's a look at the rest of week 13...

Week 13- Thurs. Nov. 27, 30 and Dec. 1

Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys- This will be without a doubt the game to watch as you're going back for seconds. Running back Julius Jones will make his return to Dallas for the first time since signing as a free agent to the Seahawks.

Also of note, this will be the final Thanksgiving Day game in Texas Stadium. Will the tears shed? Not yet! You should expect a great game, nonetheless- 4:15 PM ET on FOX

Indianapolis Colts at Cleveland Browns- This game narrowly beat out the Jaguars and Texans Monday Night game. The Colts are going to Cleveland. In case you haven't heard, it can be pretty cold in late November- 1 PM ET on CBS

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots- If those Patriots are still undefeated by the time week 13 rolls around, I'll be shocked. You know the rest, Brady vs. Burger-meister- 4:15 PM ET on CBS

Week 14- Thurs. Dec. 4, 7 & 8

Washington Redskins at Baltimore Ravens- Is this really an away game for the Redskins if the drive is only 45 minutes?- 1 PM ET on FOX

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (Toronto)- The first game in Canada since......Okay it's the first game in Canada. Could this be the new home of the Bills- 4:05 PM ET on CBS

Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers- Two historic teams clashing at each other. Or as I like to call it, three hours of listening to Joe Buck- 4:15 PM ET on FOX

Week 3- September 21 & 22

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts- Two AFC South rivals going at it in the early part of the season. Chances are, both of these teams will be undefeated heading into this game. Somebody will leave the RCA Dome with their first loss- 4:15 PM ET on CBS

Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins- One of these teams are legit playoff contenders. Can you guess which one?- 1 PM ET on FOX

Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles- It's the Pennsylvania state championship game, only with pro teams. Only one team will win- 4:15 PM ET on CBS

Week 4- September 28 & 29

Minnesota Vikings at Tennessee Titans- Adrian Peterson takes on Vince Young- 1 PM ET on FOX

A Conversation with Washington Post Blogger Jason LaCanfora

This is the first of what I hope to be many more interviews with bloggers and beat writers at many newspapers. Jason LaCanfora has been in the journalism business for more than 10 years. He' graduated Magna Cum Laude at Syracuse University. He would start out at the Syracuse Post-Standard in 1995. Then, LaCanfora would be a back-up beat writer for the Baltimore Orioles for the Baltimore Sun. From 1997-1999, LaCanfora would work for the Detroit Free Press as the Red Wings beat writer, covering their back-to-back Stanley Cup Victories and the 1998 Nagano Olympics. You can now find Jason working at the Washington Post, where he now writes for the Redskins Insider. He has references that can get him hired anywhere and he was kind enough for an interview with ONR.

You're blogging for the Washington Post, what's that like?

It's a lot of fun, but also probably a little unusual in that I can't really go off and as the beat writer for the team as well there is definitely a line there that I cannot cross, whereas the guys at Profootballtalk.com or something can kinda go off. Also, the fact I am covering the team on a highly competitive beat also limits the time I have to purely blog, riff, and all that good stuff.

What do you think of the bloggers at the Washington Post, I've heard some good things, but what do you think?

I think when it comes to internet coverage in general we were way ahead of the curve and remain at the vanguard of the movement. We have a lot of people on staff both writers and editors who get and understand new media

What does the future hold for bloggers in your opinion?

That's kinda vague. I think in general it is imperative that newspapers adapt and embrace the intimacy and fluidity of covering news on-line, and become as interactive with readers as possible in any forums that make sense (blogs, web chats, keggers in the beat guys basement).

You did an excellent job covering the Sean Taylor homicide. What was your initial reaction when you walked into the office that Monday morning and found out that Taylor was shot?

Thanks. Actually, though, my office is in Redskins Park (I go to the Post office once a month to turn in expensive and let my daughter run around and become equal parts scared and intoxicated by the moving stuffed moose we have on the wall seriously). I was actually on my drive to Ashburn when I got a call from someone on the team telling me they heard Sean was shot in Miami, and the next 12 days are a blur. But my initial reaction was truly, Holy (bleep), I hope its not too serious.

What did you think of how some folks in the media reacted to Taylor's death?

I think that with the need/pressure/demand nowadays to provide real time news/analysis, there are going to be problems, especially in delicate and unchartered territory such as this. I can understand why some people leapt to the conclusions that they did, but likewise I am eternally grateful that I did not and I followed my instincts and tried to be as sensitive to the situation as possible.

What have your thoughts and feelings been on the 2007 Redskins season? Do they have any hopes of making the playoffs?

I think it's not very realistic to expect them to finish 4-0 (Interview done last week) and get it. They have only one decent winning streak to speak of since Gibbs returned 5-0 or we don't go in 2005 and given the state of this team I don't see that happened again.

Is Joe Gibbs done after this season?

I don't think so. Barring a change in his health or a setback in his grandson's recovery from cancer, I think he will be back.

What have you thought about the dominance of the Cowboys this season?

I think you have to respect any team that can start the season 12-1 (yes, even in the NFC circa 2007). They have the second best offense in the NFL, a defense that?s good enough to be dangerous and with the ability to rush the passer. The secondary is still a mess sometimes but they have a bunch of guys who have been straight-up playmakers this season (Romo, TO, Barber, Witten, Ware) and have found a way to win. Clearly the best team in the NFC this season, but that?s not to say they can?t easily slip up in the playoffs.

Washington Redskins Win An Emotional One Over Bears--Yet I Couldn't See It

The Washington Redskins defeated my beloved Chicago Bears by a score of 24-16. This is without a doubt an emotional win for the Redskins. Just days earlier was the emotional funeral of safety Sean Taylor. Nothing could be bigger for the Redskins than for them to go out there and win.

This was also a big win for the Redskins because it keeps them alive in the NFC Wild Card hunt. Every win is vital during the final month of the season.

The Bears

As for the Bears, if they weren't out of the hunt now, they might as well be now. I'm sure some of Bears fans have given up now at this point. To be honest, I gave up after the Sunday night debacle against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Bears are just flat out awful. Anybody who says that Grossman was the problem is wrong (that includes me). The offensive line is just offensive. Granted the defense has injury issues, but it shouldn't matter. They're not as good of a team as they were last year.

Didn't Watch The Game

Yes, I didn't watch the game. I live at college and we have cable. Therefore, no NFL Network for the dude from Oh No Romo!

This is a complete crock of crap! I can't watch my team suck it up on cable television, that's ridicoulous.

What's worse, my family has Direct TV and can watch the NFL Network, meanwhile I can't. Sure I could go to a bar, but it's crappy outside from the snow, I'm not going out, not before finals, that's for sure.

I could bitch and complain, but nothing will happen. I could start a petition, but it won't work. There's just some things where money wins.

The Mondays: What is up with that?

Happy Monday everybody. It's time for another edition of The Mondays, the most superfuntastic edition in the world.

Another crazy Sunday has come and left us. I will now do what I do best. What do I do best?

• Buffalo Bills defeat Washington Redskins, 17-16- It was an emotional Sunday for the Redskins because it was their first game without Safety Sean Taylor, who died last week. To honor the fallen player, the Redskins lined up in a 10-man formation during the first defensive drive. It was an emotional moment for the Redskins, each week will only get tougher.
  
  Special Note: We will keep the memorial picture of Sean Taylor up on the Oh No Romo blog for the rest of the regular season. We will do so out of respect towards Taylor's family.
  
• Seattle Seahawks defeat Philadelphia Eagles, 28-24- The Seahawks look to be back on track and will most likely win the NFC West.
  
• Minnesota Vikings destroy Detroit Lions, 42-10- This wasn't even close, the Lions looked awful. One thing is for sure, the Vikings are a new threat in the NFC Wild Card hunt.
  
• New York Jets defeat Miami Dolphins, 40-13- The Dolphins are now 0-12, waters that are very rarily charted. The last team to lose their first 12 games was the 2001 Detroit Lions. They would finish the season 2-14.
  
  Only the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the only team to go winless in NFL History. That team would go 0-14. No team has ever gone 0-16.
  
  The final four games for the Dolphins work out like this: on the road against the Bills, at home against the Baltimore Ravens, on the road against the New England Patriots and at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Dolphins do have a chance to win all or some of these games. Prediction: The Dolphins will go 2-14.

Sean Taylor Video Tribute

RIP Sean Taylor

By now you've probably heard about the death of Sean Taylor. He died early this morning at the age of 24. Taylor was shot on Sunday night in his home in Miami after a robbery attempt. There were signs last night that things would be okay, but the tragic news came down this morning stating otherwise.

This is a devastating story. I'm not the biggest Washington Redskins fan in the world, but Taylor was a hell of a safety. He will be sorely missed not only by Redskins fans, but by the rest of the NFL.

Sean Taylor in serious danger

By now I'm sure you've heard about the home shooting of Sean Taylor, I will give you a quick update as to how things are going.

According to the Washington Post blog, Taylor's currently in intensive care and his "clinging to his life."

He is currently recovering in a hospital in Florida. Neither his girlfriend nor his child was injured in the robbery.

This is no doubt a terrible situation. It's hard to put into words how bad this is, not just for the Washington Redskins, but for the NFL.

Taylor is without a doubt one of the best safeties in the game. I wish him a full and speedy recovery. I will be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers.

The Monday's: Devin Hester is my hero

Week six has brought us more action than a Steven Seagal flick (HAYOOOO). What other cheesy jokes do I have in my thoughts?

Nevermind that, let's recap Sunday's action:

• Minnesota Vikings defeat Chicago Bears, 31-28- Wow, what a game this was. The run defense was bad for the Bears, but you gotta love the Devin Hester punt return. Better yet, enjoy these Adrian Peterson highlights.
  
• New England Patriots defeat Dallas Cowboys, 48-27- Tom Brady has another big day. The Patriots appear unstoppable.
  
• Carolina Panthers shatter the dreams of Arizona Cardinals, win 25-10- WAY TO GO VINNY!!! Say what you want about Vinny Testaverde, but this could be a good thing for the Panthers.
  
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat Tennessee Titans, 13-10- No Vince Young....It's the Tiki....I mean Madden Curse *Tiki sounds*. Oh well, let's show the highlights.
  
• Green Bay Packers defeat Washington Redskins, 17-14- Brett Favre broke the interception record, THIS WEEK, not last. I do apologize for the error.
  
• Sunday Night Football Recap: New Orleans Saints defeat Seattle Seahawks, 28-17- BOO-YAH! Congratulations on a win Saints. You now have more wins than the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins. For that, you too get a highlight.
  
• ROMO ALERT: Tony Romo threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to the Patriots.

The Monday's: INSERT TITLE HERE

Week five has mostly left us. With the exception of the Monday Night Football game, taking place later on tonight, it's safe to assume that the week is over.

Time for some thoughts on Week 5:

• Chicago Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers, 27-20- Wow, I'm a Bears fan and I never saw it coming. Brian Griese, who looks like Mr. Roper from 'Enter the Dragon', had two touchdown passes.
  
  The Bears needed this win and they certainly went into Lambeau Field and got the job done. Cornerback Charles Tillman forced two fumbles, which helped the Bears get back into the game.
  
  Also, Brett Favre tied (not passed like previously mentioned) George Blanda for most interceptions All-Time. A big congratulations to him.
  
• Washington Redskins blow out the Detroit Lions, 34-3- What a great game for Jason Campbell, 23 of 29, 248 yards and two touchdowns. Plus check out this video from yesterday's game.
  
  As for Detroit, their offense shut down faster than a power outage at a Dave Matthews Band concert. They had 11 first downs and 144 total net yards. Quarterback Jon Kitna threw two picks. Like I said on Friday, I'm still not sold on the Lions.
  
• Houston Texans defeat the Miami Dolphins on a last second field goal by Kris Brown, 22-19- Great game for Ronnie Brown, 114 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown.
  
  The Texans scored only one touchdown. Brown had five field goals and that includes the 57-yarder that he kicked with one second left.
  
  The bigger story is the fact that the Dolphins are 0-5 and their quarterback Trent Green got knocked out of the game. The good news is that he's ok.
  
• Pittsburgh Steelers shut out the Seattle Seahawks, 21-0- Great work for the Steelers, I did call this game.
  
• New York Giants defeated New York Jets, 35-24- Did the Giants win, or did the Jets lose?
  
• San Diego destroyed the Denver Broncos, 41-3- Ooooh, that looks like it hurt.

Friday Brief's: Never Wear a Wired Battery to the Airport

It's time to pick some football games. Last weekend was one of my better weekends. I went 4-1 for week two, which brings my record to 7-3. Let's see what magic I can pull out of my hat.

• San Francisco 49ers over Pittsburgh Steelers- This game will feature a lot more running than a track meet.
  
• Philadelphia Eagles over Detroit Lions- If Donovan McNabb doesn't win, he will surely be booed. I don't see them losing to the Lions though.
  
• Green Bay Packers over San Diego Chargers- Shhh you hear that? That's the sound of another 35 yard rushing game for LT.
  
• Carolina Panthers over Atlanta Falcons- Somebody needs to step into the front of the NFC South and since Joey Harrington is starting for Atlanta, you know the rest.
  
• Washington Redskins over New York Giants- The Over/Under for Tom Coughlin getting fired is Week 10 at home against the Dallas Cowboys.

As you will notice, I have not picked the winner of the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears. I've done so because of a conflict of interest. So take that.
