Tuesdays with Romo: Dallas wins a snoozer

Wow, this was really my first legitimate opportunity to sit down and watch some football and go figure, it's a snoozer.

Dallas Cowboys 21 - Carolina Panthers 7- There's not much to say. It was a BORING game. It was a game that saw the Cowboys run the football for more than 200 yards.

ROMO ALERT: The namesake threw for 255 yards passing, but no touchdowns. If there's a bright side, Romo didn't throw any interceptions.

The Cowboys are now 2-1. The Panthers are now in something deeper than trouble.

NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: Dallas Cowboys

We wrap up the NFC East with a look at the Dallas Cowboys. Personally, I've been waiting to let my thoughts out on my namesake.

This season is indeed now or never for Tony Romo. Gone are the distractions of Terrell Owens and Pacman Jones. Romo is the star of the show in Dallas.

If he wants to be listed among the great Cowboys quarterbacks like Meredith, Staubach and Aikman, he needs to get to the playoffs and win this season.

Common sense says that Romo should be the leader of this team. However, in some ways, it doesn't feel like Romo is leading this team. The biggest issue last season for the Cowboys was there was nobody stepping up to be the leader of this team.

Leaders make the difference between an adequate team and a playoff winning team. If nobody steps up and takes charge, the Cowboys won't win then. This year we will indeed see who steps up and who doesn't.

The Mondays: A great man once said a tie was like kissing your sister

With that, another Sunday has passed on.

Philadelphia Eagles 13 - Cincinnati Bengals 13- So in truth, nobody won, but nobody lost. If there had to be a loser in this game, it's the Eagles. The Giants and Cowboys both won on Sunday and ultimately the Eagles lost ground in the NFC East. This should have been a good win for the Eagles on Sunday, but they failed to capitalize.

Tennessee Titans 24 - Jacksonville Jaguars 14- The Titans were down 14-3 at halftime, but scored 21 points in the second half, including a late fourth quarter touchdown pass by Kerry Collins to go 10-0. Collins threw three touchdowns passes in the win. The Titans now have the Jets this week. I still think the Titans are going to lose at some point. On Thanksgiving Day, the Titans get the Lions. They have to stumble at some point.

Miami Dolphins 17 - Oakland Raiders 15- It's like the Dolphins are a good football team or something. The Dolphins have a chance to do something this Sunday that they haven't done since 2000 and that's to sweep the Patriots.

Green Bay Packers 37 - Chicago Bears 3- Ouchies! The Bears seem to be having some issues at this point and time, mainly on defense.

Pittsburgh Steelers 11 - San Diego Chargers 10- Low scoring football game, or National League slug fest?

SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP/ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys 14 - Washington Redskins 10- So it wasn't the performance the Cowboys were expecting from Tony Romo (1 touchdown pass, 2 interceptions), but they're back on track in the playoff race with a good win on the road against a tough Redskins team. Marion Barber ran for 124 yards and one touchdown.

MONDAY NIGHT PICK: Buffalo over Cleveland

Remember the time when Tony Romo got hurt? We don't

Consider Oh No Romo in a panic right now. Our fearless leader is out for as much as four weeks because of a broken finger on his throwing hand.

Ordinarily, we wouldn't fret over this, but because this is our namesake and the fact that he is on all three of my fantasy teams (who by the way were in great shape prior to the injury), we can't help but panic.

I can't imagine how the Cowboys nation is feeling right now. I'd be willing to bet the panic is greater there than it is at Oh No Romo. I'm sure Joe Buck is inconsolable right now.

Get better soon, man.

My fantasy team is doomed right now.

The Mondays: Washington wants to be cool

Washington Redskins 24 - Philadelphia Eagles 17- So...are the Redskins for real? Two weeks in a row, they've knocked off a division rival on the road. That is impressive, even for NFC East standards. Coach Jim Zorn has this team firing on all cylinders. In their next three games, the Redskins will play St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit. The Redskins could easily be 7-1 at the halfway point.

Tennessee Titans 13 - Baltimore Ravens 10- How about the Titans? They are off to an excellent start. I think what needs to be asked is if Vince Young is ready to come back and play. At this point, Kerry Collins is the hot pick.

Chicago Bears 34 - Detroit Lions 7- How about that Kyle Orton fella? He threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears are in great shape. They're 3-2 and could easily be 5-0, had they not lost close cames to Carolina and Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, things are just not looking good for the Lions. Quarterback Jon Kitna was benched in the third quarter and we got our first look at Dan Orlovski. He didn't have a lot of luck.

Atlanta Falcons 27 - Green Bay Packers 24- Would you believe that the Falcons need one more win to match last season's total? It is great to see the Falcons playing good football. Matt Ryan is continuing to mature as quarterback. It helps that he has a good back in Michael Turner, who ran for 121 yards and one touchdown.

New York Giants 44 - Seattle Seahawks 6- The Giants have it going on and they don't look to be stumbling anytime soon. Eli Manning threw two touchdowns on Sunday. Something is wrong with the Seahawks. They're 1-3 to start the season. There's a lot to be concerned about in Seattle.

Denver Broncos 16 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13- The Broncos managed to play defense and won a close game.

ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys 31 - Cincinnati Bengals 22- This one shouldn't have been close, but the Cowboys did struggle. Tony Romo threw for 176 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Sunday Night Recap: Pittsburgh Steelers 26 - Jacksonville Jaguars 21- The Steelers stay strong in the AFC.

Tuesdays with Romo: The Romos win

Week two ended with plenty of excitement on Monday night. The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles battled it out in a classic.

The Cowboys won the shootout over the Eagles 41-37. A Marion Barber 1-yard run made the difference in the game for the Cowboys.

Both teams combined for more than 700 total yards and 39 first downs.

ROMO ALERT: Romo completed 21 passes out of 30 for 312 yards and three touchdowns.

Great game all in all.

The Mondays: Bye-Bye Brady?

Happy week 1 of the NFL season. I am proud to bring back the greatest spectacle here at Oh No Romo, the Mondays.

New England Patriots 17 - Kansas City Chiefs 10- The Pats held on to win their 17th straight regular season game, but it came at a strong price. Reports are out that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is out for the season after tearing his ACL.

This is a disastrous injury no matter which team you play for. Brady has been the face of this franchise for seven years now. The Patriots will be playing without him for the first time in a long time. The pressure is now on Matt Cassel.

He goes from being back up to #1 on the depth chart. Cassel played well Sunday in his time off the bench. Cassel completed 13-of-18 for 152 yards and one touchdown. Cassel managed the game well and showed a lot of composure despite getting hit hard a couple of times. It will be interesting to see how Cassel does in the next couple of weeks. It will also be interesting to see if the Patriots add another quarterback

Atlanta Falcons 34 - Detroit Lions 21- A big congratulations goes out to Matt Ryan for winning his first game as an NFL quarterback. The big story of the day goes to running back Michael Turner. The former San Diego running back had over 200 yards today with two touchdowns. Matt Ryan also threw his first career touchdown pass when he completed a 62-yarder to Michael Jenkins. The Falcons could be 2-0 if they go through Tampa next week.

Buffalo Bills 34 - Seattle Seahawks 10- I raise my hand because yes, I admit, I saw this loss for the Seahawks coming. I'm not saying the Seahawks are bad, that's only on the road and when they travel across the country. No matter, this is a big win for the Bills. Roscoe Parrish rocked Buffalo when he returned a punt for 63 yards in the second quarter to score a touchdown.

Baltimore Ravens 17 - Cincinnati Bengals 10- How about that Joe Flacco kid? The rookie from Delaware ran for a 38 yard touchdown.

I Believe in Kenny Watson Watch: Watson ran for 13 yards on two carries.

Oh No Romo Alert: Despite a little sweet chin music, Romo threw for 320 yards and one touchdown. The Cowboys won.

Sunday Night Recap: Chicago Bears 29 - Indianapolis Colts 13- It was the Matt Forte show that came on air at Lucas Oil Stadium. Forte ran for 123 yards and one touchdown. Peyton Manning in his return to the field threw for one touchdown and 257 yards. The running game for the Colts never took off. The Colts ran for a combined 53 yards.

Happy Birthday to Oh No Romo

Who would have thought that one year ago today, I decided to be an idiot and start this blog. Although I'm not a huge celebrity like my namesake is, I'm slowly progressing into a fairly decent blogger.

Am I the best, hell no! I know though if I can do the best I can, I'll be okay. I just have to put some heart and soul into this. I hope to keep blogging for a long, long time.

Tuesdays with Romo: NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: Dallas Cowboys

It's day two of our month long celebration that is, the NFL Preview Show Extravaganza. Yesterday we profiled the New York Giants. Today, we cover the NFC East champions, the Dallas Cowboys.

The 2007 season saw the first full season in the career of one Tony Ramiro Romo. Sure enough, my namesake didn't falter. The Cowboys won their first five games and soon enough, Romo became an even bigger household name than before. The Cowboys would win 12 of their first 13 games. However, the Cowboys stumbled late in the season, losing two of their final three games.

With a 13-3 record in the regular season, Romo and the Boys were the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs. They faced the New York Giants in the divisional round. The Cowboys were the favorites to knock off the Giants and go on to face the Packers in the NFC title game. It was a home game and the Cowboys swept the season series. Unfortunately for Romo, he would lose the game and the Giants would go on to win the Super Bowl.

Romo leads his pack into Cleveland to take on the Browns in week one of the regular season. The Cowboys have some notable games against the Green Bay Packers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.

The Best of the Mondays: Week 1

I've finally decided to do this after months and months of promises. I'm doing the best of the Mondays, my own Monday morning analysis of the week's games. Today, we go back to week one of the 2007 regular season. I'll give my own analysis of my analysis. Sounds stupid, doesn't it? I'll have my present day thoughts in italics.

My oh my how the time passes. Tony Romo picked apart the eventual Super Bowl champions. Kevin Everett's career and life were uncertain after his injury during the kickoff against Denver. Also, the Patriots destroyed the Jets in their first game of the regular season. (NOTE: The whole Spygate controversy started the afternoon that this post was made). Enjoy the post kiddies and I'll see you on Hump Day.

• New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is certainly having fun with his new offensive weapons. His new three new wide receivers combined for 263 yards. Randy Moss led the team with 183 yards and one touchdown- Did Mangini get the last laugh?
  
  New York Jet fans were cheering Kellen Clemons as he came into the game, replacing injured Chad Pennington. What is up with that?- No it had to be the hoodie!
  
  How about that Ellis Hobbs, 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, longest in NFL History. Big props to Hobbs!- Woo, Ellis Hobbs!
  
  
• The Chicago Bears lost to the San Diego Chargers 14-3. I am disappointed. They held LaDainian Tomlinson to 25 yards on the ground. The Bears offense needs to improve, or heads will roll- The Chargers were up and down early on, but they stuck it out and made it to the AFC title game.
  
  
• A big congratulations goes out to Houston Texans defensive end, Mario Williams, scoring his first touchdown on a fumble recovery. Way to go man. By the way, the Texans defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-3- Who knew that the Texans would be a big surprise in the NFL that season? Not I!
  
  
• Condolensces go out to Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett, who is recovering from surgery this morning after a helmut-to-helmut collison left him unconscious. Hopefully, it is nothing serious, but definitely keep him in your thoughts and prayers- I'm glad he made it through and is now walking again.
  
  
• ROMO ALERT: Tony Romo shined on Sunday Night (is Football Night), throwing for 345 yards and four touchdowns. The Cowboys won the game 45-35. It was definitely a great way to end a great Sunday- A lot of questions came up in regards to the competency of the Giants. Hindsight now tells us differently.
  
  
• Monday Night Picks: I'm picking the Baltimore Ravens over the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers over the Arizona Cardinals- I went 1-1 on that night in case you forgot

Hump Day: Headin' down the homestretch

Would you believe that we're almost done with our 16 game preview of the 2008 NFL season? Well believe it! On Monday, we gave a look at weeks 11 and 12. Today, we will take a look at weeks 13 and 14.

Week 13 will be significant because that's when Thanksgiving is. Three games are scheduled on Thanksgiving. However, I only plan on profiling one. So I'll give you the other two. They are: Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions- 12:30 PM ET on CBS and Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles- 8:15 PM ET on NFL Network

Here's a look at the rest of week 13...

Week 13- Thurs. Nov. 27, 30 and Dec. 1

Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys- This will be without a doubt the game to watch as you're going back for seconds. Running back Julius Jones will make his return to Dallas for the first time since signing as a free agent to the Seahawks.

Also of note, this will be the final Thanksgiving Day game in Texas Stadium. Will the tears shed? Not yet! You should expect a great game, nonetheless- 4:15 PM ET on FOX

Indianapolis Colts at Cleveland Browns- This game narrowly beat out the Jaguars and Texans Monday Night game. The Colts are going to Cleveland. In case you haven't heard, it can be pretty cold in late November- 1 PM ET on CBS

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots- If those Patriots are still undefeated by the time week 13 rolls around, I'll be shocked. You know the rest, Brady vs. Burger-meister- 4:15 PM ET on CBS

Week 14- Thurs. Dec. 4, 7 & 8

Washington Redskins at Baltimore Ravens- Is this really an away game for the Redskins if the drive is only 45 minutes?- 1 PM ET on FOX

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (Toronto)- The first game in Canada since......Okay it's the first game in Canada. Could this be the new home of the Bills- 4:05 PM ET on CBS

Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers- Two historic teams clashing at each other. Or as I like to call it, three hours of listening to Joe Buck- 4:15 PM ET on FOX

The Mondays: And Then There Were Four

Happy Monday to all, it is the one and only, partying it up with you guys on this Monday morning. We now have our final four. First though, we need to discuss the games from Sunday.

San Diego Chargers knock off Indianapolis Colts, 28-24- First of all, yes I called it, but I never saw this coming. I never anticipated the Chargers losing LT and Rivers and still have the chance to keep the Colts down.

Marvin Harrison looked awful in his return, but that's to be expected when you're out for three months. The Colts did everything they could to go out there and win, but it didn't happen. It seems like the Chargers have their number.

New York Giants defeat Dallas Cowboys, 21-17- Any negative things I said about the New York Giants, I would like the opportunity to take that back. This team came to play today, especially quarterback Eli Manning. Today, Manning threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions.

AFC Title Game

San Diego Chargers at New England Patriots, 3:30 ET on CBS- It's a week two rematch, who knows how this might go.

NFC Title Game

New York Giants at Green Bay Packers, 6:30 ET on Fox- This has the makings of a great game.

The Mondays: You've Been Pre-Accepted For a New Credit Card

Happy Monday to all you wild and crazy football hooligans out there in happy land. It's now only a week until Christmas and all the shopping stores are wild and out of control (until I show up). Week 15 certainly had some crazy moments, I can definitely guarantee that.

• Cleveland Browns defeat Buffalo Bills, 8-0- What a crazy weather game. There was snow as far as I could see. At 9-5, the Browns are a serious threat to make the playoffs. The Browns go to Cincinnati next week and have a home finale against the San Francisco 49ers. They're in the sixth spot in the Wild Card, but the Browns do have a chance to overthrow the Steelers and win the Division crown.
  
  
• Jacksonville Jaguars defeat Pittsburgh Steelers, 29-22- The Jags have it together. They have a reliable quarterback in David Garrard, an excellent running back combination and a great defense. Jack Del Rio has this team working on all cylinders. The Jags have the fifth seed wrapped up.
  
  As for the Steelers, things don't look good. They lost at home to a warm weather team. The Steelers couldn't stop Fred Taylor yesterday. The Steelers hold the tiebreaker advantage over the Browns, however one loss could spoil hopes of a division crown.
  
  
• ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys lose to Philadelphia Eagles, 10-6- Jim Johnson is a freakin genius. His defense figured out a way to shut down Tony Romo and the rest of the Cowboys offense. Plus, did anybody NOT notice Jessica Simpson at Cowboys Stadium yesterday, it seemed like they showed her every time in between plays. If you didn't see her, get your eyes checked. If the Cowboys win out against the Carolina Panthers and the Washington Redskins, they'll have homefield advantage.
  
  
• Miami Dolphins pick up first win of the season- First of all, I knew the Dolphins wouldn't go 0-16. I said they would go 2-14 and now they are half way there to making my prediction accurate. Now they have a chance to not get easily embarrassed against the New England Patriots next week. You might call me stupid, but I'm not counting out the Pats losing this Sunday. We'll see.
  
  
• SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: Washington Redskins defeat New York Giants, 22-10- This is a huge win for the Redskins because they are still alive in the NFC Wild Card hunt. At 7-7, wins over the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys would be huge for this team. As for the Giants, what the hell!?!?! The Giants have all the sudden fallen off the wagon taking them into the playoffs. Losing Jeremy Shockey doesn't help. The Bills and the Pats are their final two games. Just one win and they are in.
  

Week 16 will surely be a blast.

• ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys defeat Washington Redskins, 28-23- Stats: 22 of 32, 293 yards and four touchdowns.
  


• Sunday Night Recap: New England Patriots destroy Buffalo Bills, 56-10- Lost in this blowout was the video speech of Bills tight end Kevin Everett. It was an emotional moment for the Bills, but it wasn't enough to stop the new "Evil Empire."
  


• Brown-tastic: Cleveland Browns defeat Baltimore Ravens in OT, 33-30- This is the best story in the NFL. I hope the Browns can clinch a wild card spot.
  


• Two in a row: St. Louis Rams defeat San Francisco 49ers, 13-9- The Rams are on fire now. Imagine if they beat the Seahawks last week, how crazy would that be?

The Monday's: Devin Hester is my hero

Week six has brought us more action than a Steven Seagal flick (HAYOOOO). What other cheesy jokes do I have in my thoughts?

Nevermind that, let's recap Sunday's action:

• Minnesota Vikings defeat Chicago Bears, 31-28- Wow, what a game this was. The run defense was bad for the Bears, but you gotta love the Devin Hester punt return. Better yet, enjoy these Adrian Peterson highlights.
  
• New England Patriots defeat Dallas Cowboys, 48-27- Tom Brady has another big day. The Patriots appear unstoppable.
  
• Carolina Panthers shatter the dreams of Arizona Cardinals, win 25-10- WAY TO GO VINNY!!! Say what you want about Vinny Testaverde, but this could be a good thing for the Panthers.
  
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat Tennessee Titans, 13-10- No Vince Young....It's the Tiki....I mean Madden Curse *Tiki sounds*. Oh well, let's show the highlights.
  
• Green Bay Packers defeat Washington Redskins, 17-14- Brett Favre broke the interception record, THIS WEEK, not last. I do apologize for the error.
  
• Sunday Night Football Recap: New Orleans Saints defeat Seattle Seahawks, 28-17- BOO-YAH! Congratulations on a win Saints. You now have more wins than the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins. For that, you too get a highlight.
  
• ROMO ALERT: Tony Romo threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to the Patriots.

Tuesday's with Romo: Our Folk-Hero and A New Chapter in the Romo Legacy

Let me start this recap out by saying, Wow! This is a definite nomination for the Monday Night Game of the Year. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills, 25-24.

Nick Folk won the game for the Cowboys on a 53-yard field goal. What made it amazing was the fact that he had to kick it twice (Dick Jauron called a timeout for the first attempt).

Yes, Tony Romo did throw five interceptions, but he still led his team back when they needed him. The Cowboys were down eight points, late in the game.

Patrick Crayton caught a 4-yard touchdown pass, with 20 seconds left. After recovering an onside kick. The Cowboys got close enough for Folk to be the hero (That's a very popular term right now).

This was a great game. The Bills did the best they could. They forced six turnovers, but no offensive touchdowns. Terrence McGee ran back a touchdown that went 103-yards. George Wilson and Chris Kelsay both returned an interception for a touchdown.

ROMO ALERT: 309 yards, five interceptions and two touchdown passes.
