Pittsburgh Steelers 27 - Minnesota Vikings 17- This was probably the only good day for me. The Steelers defense came through big with two turnover touchdowns. Keyaron Fox scored the touchdown to put the Vikings away for good. Like I said, only happy part of day for yours truly.
Cincinnati Bengals 45 - Chicago Bears 10- This was such a painful day for me. Cedric Benson got his revenge. So now the Bears are at 3-3. The Bengals are 5-2. Such a crazy world. That said, I think it's time to get rid of Ron Turner.
Indianapolis Colts 42 - St. Louis Rams 6- The Colts are undefeated, the Rams haven't won a game.
New England Patriots 35 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7- Really New England? Only 35 points? I was expecting 60 out of you guys.
New Orleans Saints 46 - Miami Dolphins 34- My pick went right for the first three quarters. Sure enough, everything would fall apart. A 22-point fourth quarter got New Orleans to 6-0. The Saints proved that they can be a true contender in the NFC.
Dallas Cowboys 37 - Atlanta Falcons 21- ROMO ALERT: The namesake completed 21-of-29 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: Arizona Cardinals 24 - New York Giants 17- Cheer up Giants fans, at least the Yankees are in the World Series.
MONDAY NIGHT PREDICTION: Philly over Washington D.C.
Okay, now that I got that out of the way. Here's what happened on Sunday:
Chicago Bears 48 - Detroit Lions 24- What better birthday gift could there be than a Bears victory? (For me at least)
Denver Broncos 17 - Dallas Cowboys 10- ROMO ALERT: Our namesake got sacked five times in yesterday's game. It's surprising to see the Broncos at 4-0 on the season. Can they finish the job though?
Cincinnati Bengals 23 - Cleveland Browns 20- This game was seconds away from being a tie.
Jacksonville Jaguars 37 - Tennessee Titans 17- Panic in the streets for Nashville? Not since 1983 have the Titans/Oilers started a season 0-4. And that was when they had Earl Campbell (granted near the end of his career). The Oilers that season went 2-14. I think the Titans will win more than two games, but 5-11 is starting to sound like a real possibility.
Miami Dolphins 38 - Buffalo Bills 10- I think I should have put the Bills in the Aztec Tomb...Chad Henne had an uneventful game. Instead, the props go to Ronnie Brown, who ran for two touchdowns.
New Orleans 24 - New York Jets 10- Are the Saints for real? At 4-0 it sounds like a real possibility. Anytime defense can score for you, it's always a good sign that you're a legit team on both sides of the ball. As for the Jets, well...you knew they had to lose at some point.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: Pittsburgh Steelers 38 - San Diego Chargers 28- So the Steelers led 28-7 at the end of the third quarter. They should have this in the bag, right? Well, they didn't. A Jacob Hester returned a fumble for a touchdown, then Philip Rivers threw two touchdown passes to get the Chargers within seven points of the Steelers. Jeff Reed came through when needed though and put the Steelers ahead by 10 late.
Are the Steelers in trouble? They did get the win. They get Detroit next week. We'll see what happens. As for San Diego, they got close, but not close enough. Still, can we expect the Broncos to really hold on to that lead in the AFC West? The Chargers have a bye this week, but they get their first crack at Denver the week after.
MONDAY NIGHT PREDICTION: Honestly, I'm hoping for a 0-0 tie, but I know that will never happen. So, Packers 24- Vikings 23.
Chicago Bears 17 - Pittsburgh Steelers 14- A Robbie Gould field goal kept the Bears from going 0-2. Am I happy? You bet I am! Oh and no interceptions for Jay Cutler.
Houston Texans 34 - Tennessee Titans 31- It was a four touchdown day for Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. This is not a good start for the Titans. They get the Jets in the Meadowlands this weekend. Could the Titans go 0-3? Who knows!
New York Jets 16 - New England Patriots 9- MARK SANCHEZ IS 2-0! The Jets fans rejoice! Oh and Tom Brady has lost his first regular season game since Dec. 14, 2006. Quite a long time for sure...
Minnesota Vikings 27 - Detroit Lions 13- So it's 19 straight losses now for the Lions. The magic number is 26.
New Orleans Saints 44 - Philadelphia Eagles 22- Three touchdown passes for Drew Brees. That's nine touchdown passes in two games.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: New York Giants 33 - Dallas Cowboys 31- Awful day for the namesake. Romo threw three picks. Eli Manning played terrific. He threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns.
Sad day for Bears fans as linebacker Brian Urlacher is reportedly out for the season. Urlacher dislocated his wrist last night in the Bears loss against the Packers.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Urlacher said in a text message that he was done for the season. He did reportedly have surgery this morning. There is some speculation in the Tribune post that there might have been more damage than initially realized.
The linebacking corp will have to step it up in the absence of Urlacher. Hunter Hillenmeyer is number two on the depth chart at middle linebacker. Hillenmeyer had two tackles in the game last night.
We'll see what happens next. Maybe they'll go for Derrick Brooks...
(Editor's Note: No questions for today. I've been holding out on my thoughts of the Cutler trade for months now. This is my chance to talk about the Cutler trade.)
So the Bears went 9-7 in 2008. It was a much better season than I had anticipated. I give the Bears a lot of credit for hanging in there throughout the year. The Bears made one of the biggest moves of the offseason though. What did they do...?
They traded Kyle Orton to the Denver Broncos for one Jay Cutler. For the first time in a long time, the Bears have a quarterback for fans to be excited about...right...?
I'd be lying if I said I was excited to see what Cutler does. The fact is, I'm skeptical about the new "Cutler Era" in Chi-town. By no means am I doubting the ability of Cutler. Cutler is an excellent young quarterback and definitely has a lot of upside to him.
However, for many years now, the Bears philosophy on offense has been to run the football. Walter Payton, Gale Sayers, Bronko Nagurski and Rashaan Salaam (yes I went there), need I really say more. Chicago Bears football is about playing tough defense and running the football on offense. Passing is secondary.
Consider this: the Bears have never had a 4,000 yard passer in the team's history. Let me repeat that again! The Bears have never had a 4,000 yard passer...ever!
In fact, only four quarterbacks have thrown for 3,000 yards in the team's history. Erik Kramer (twice), Rex Grossman, Billy Wade and Jim Harbaugh are the only Bears quarterbacks to throw for 3,000 yards.
Here's another fun fact, no Bears quarterback has ever passed for 30 touchdowns in a season. Erik Kramer holds the single season record with 29 touchdown passes.
It's hard not to be skeptical about Cutler when the Bears have had 24 different starting quarterbacks since 1991.
I'm withholding all of my judgment on Cutler until I see him take snaps at center for the Bears. But that won't stop me from being skeptical.
Sunday was a great day to be a citizen of Tampa. The Rays won the AL Pennant and are playing in their first World Series in franchise history. A big congratulations goes out to them, here at Oh No Romo. However, this is a football blog. We talk football here.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20 - Seattle Seahawks 10- Sunday night was by far a big night for quarterback Jeff Garcia. Garcia threw for 310 yards and one touchdown in the win. The lone touchdown pass went to receiver Antonio Bryant. The Bucs are now 5-2 and tied for first in the NFC South. If the Bucs go through Dallas and KC, they will go 7-2 into their bye week. I'd have to say things are going well.
ROMO ALERT: St. Louis Rams 34 - Dallas Cowboys 14- No Tony Romo, no win? It could be the case. You can't deny that the Rams have been playing good football though. Steven Jackson had a HUGE day for the Rams. Jackson ran for three touchdowns and 160 yards rushing. The Rams have knocked off two NFC East teams in a row. Coach Jim Haslett could very well save this season for the Rams.
Chicago Bears 48 - Minnesota Vikings 41- The Bears are an offensive fire power. Kyle Orton threw for 280 yards on Sunday with two touchdown passes. The Bears special teams deserve the credit for the win on Sunday though. Two touchdowns were scored on miscues by the Vikings special teams. The first came when punter Chris Kluwe dropped the snap, with Garrett Wolfe recovering the fumble and returning it 17 yards. The second came on a fumble by Charles Gordon, with Zackary Bowman scoring the touchdown.
Atlanta Falcons 22 - Chicago Bears 20- This was a great game from start to finish. In the end, the Falcons came out on top. Falcons kicker Jason Elam kicked a 48-yard field goal, as time expired, to win the game. Elam missed a 33-yarder two minutes earlier, which gave the ball back to the Bears. After the Kyle Orton touchdown pass to Rashied Davis with 11 seconds left in the game, it looked to be all but over for the Falcons. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw a 26-yard pass to Michael Jenkins with one second left on the clock. Jenkins landed out of bounds with possession. The play led to the Elam field goal. Elam made 5-of-6 field goals on Sunday. Ryan threw for 300 yards for the first time in his NFL career. No doubt this is a huge win for the Falcons. The NFC South is turning into a very tough division. Things are looking up for the NFC South.
Houston Texans 29 - Miami Dolphins 28- A three yard draw by Texans quarterback Matt Schaub made the ultimate difference in the game. Schaub went for it on fourth down and got in for the score. Meanwhile, Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter isn't happy about a blown call by referee Ed Hochuli. The popular ref seems to be having some bad string of luck this season. It's hard to say what's wrong with him. Hopefully he can get back on track, because right now, no team wants to play while Hochuli is reffing.
St. Louis Rams 19 - Washington Redskins 17- A Josh Brown 49-yard field goal gave the Rams their first win of the season. Brown made four field goals on the day. In a way, Sunday was a day for field goal kickers.
Romo Alert: Arizona Cardinals defeat Dallas Cowboys in overtime- The man formerly known as Antonio threw for three touchdowns today, but it wasn't enough to stop the Cardinals.
Sunday Night Recap: San Diego Chargers 30 - New England Patriots 10- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had a huge night, last night. Rivers threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He had a quarterback rating of 141.9. The big question is, how far will the Patriots fall?
Monday Night Prediction: New York Giants over Cleveland Browns
Washington Redskins 24 - Philadelphia Eagles 17- So...are the Redskins for real? Two weeks in a row, they've knocked off a division rival on the road. That is impressive, even for NFC East standards. Coach Jim Zorn has this team firing on all cylinders. In their next three games, the Redskins will play St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit. The Redskins could easily be 7-1 at the halfway point.
Tennessee Titans 13 - Baltimore Ravens 10- How about the Titans? They are off to an excellent start. I think what needs to be asked is if Vince Young is ready to come back and play. At this point, Kerry Collins is the hot pick.
Chicago Bears 34 - Detroit Lions 7- How about that Kyle Orton fella? He threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears are in great shape. They're 3-2 and could easily be 5-0, had they not lost close cames to Carolina and Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, things are just not looking good for the Lions. Quarterback Jon Kitna was benched in the third quarter and we got our first look at Dan Orlovski. He didn't have a lot of luck.
Atlanta Falcons 27 - Green Bay Packers 24- Would you believe that the Falcons need one more win to match last season's total? It is great to see the Falcons playing good football. Matt Ryan is continuing to mature as quarterback. It helps that he has a good back in Michael Turner, who ran for 121 yards and one touchdown.
New York Giants 44 - Seattle Seahawks 6- The Giants have it going on and they don't look to be stumbling anytime soon. Eli Manning threw two touchdowns on Sunday. Something is wrong with the Seahawks. They're 1-3 to start the season. There's a lot to be concerned about in Seattle.
Denver Broncos 16 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13- The Broncos managed to play defense and won a close game.
ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys 31 - Cincinnati Bengals 22- This one shouldn't have been close, but the Cowboys did struggle. Tony Romo threw for 176 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Sunday Night Recap: Pittsburgh Steelers 26 - Jacksonville Jaguars 21- The Steelers stay strong in the AFC.

Happy week 1 of the NFL season. I am proud to bring back the greatest spectacle here at Oh No Romo, the Mondays.
New England Patriots 17 - Kansas City Chiefs 10- The Pats held on to win their 17th straight regular season game, but it came at a strong price. Reports are out that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is out for the season after tearing his ACL.
This is a disastrous injury no matter which team you play for. Brady has been the face of this franchise for seven years now. The Patriots will be playing without him for the first time in a long time. The pressure is now on Matt Cassel.
He goes from being back up to #1 on the depth chart. Cassel played well Sunday in his time off the bench. Cassel completed 13-of-18 for 152 yards and one touchdown. Cassel managed the game well and showed a lot of composure despite getting hit hard a couple of times. It will be interesting to see how Cassel does in the next couple of weeks. It will also be interesting to see if the Patriots add another quarterback
Atlanta Falcons 34 - Detroit Lions 21- A big congratulations goes out to Matt Ryan for winning his first game as an NFL quarterback. The big story of the day goes to running back Michael Turner. The former San Diego running back had over 200 yards today with two touchdowns. Matt Ryan also threw his first career touchdown pass when he completed a 62-yarder to Michael Jenkins. The Falcons could be 2-0 if they go through Tampa next week.
Buffalo Bills 34 - Seattle Seahawks 10- I raise my hand because yes, I admit, I saw this loss for the Seahawks coming. I'm not saying the Seahawks are bad, that's only on the road and when they travel across the country. No matter, this is a big win for the Bills. Roscoe Parrish rocked Buffalo when he returned a punt for 63 yards in the second quarter to score a touchdown.
Baltimore Ravens 17 - Cincinnati Bengals 10- How about that Joe Flacco kid? The rookie from Delaware ran for a 38 yard touchdown.
I Believe in Kenny Watson Watch: Watson ran for 13 yards on two carries.
Oh No Romo Alert: Despite a little sweet chin music, Romo threw for 320 yards and one touchdown. The Cowboys won.
Sunday Night Recap: Chicago Bears 29 - Indianapolis Colts 13- It was the Matt Forte show that came on air at Lucas Oil Stadium. Forte ran for 123 yards and one touchdown. Peyton Manning in his return to the field threw for one touchdown and 257 yards. The running game for the Colts never took off. The Colts ran for a combined 53 yards.
Monday Night Predictions: Minnesota Vikings over Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos over Oakland Raiders
Today, I continue my preview of the NFC North, minus the Green Bay Packers. I'll now focus on the Chicago Bears.
If I wrote Blues songs, most of them would be about Rex Grossman. There's no shortage of Blues in the city of Chicago. It doesn't help that the Bears are indecisive at the quarterback position.
Last season, the Bears started Grossman, Brian Griese and Kyle Orton. Those three would throw for a combined 3700 yards, 18 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. Griese led the three with 1800 yards.
This season, it comes down to two guys, Grossman and Orton. With Grossman, you have a guy who has a rocket for an arm. Grossman has the ability to throw it downfield. However, when under pressure, Grossman tends to fold up like a chair.
With Orton, you have a guy who can run the Bears offense, which is a predominant running game. Orton can control the game and not make mistakes. However, he's not a strong passer, which means he can't get it downfield like Grossman can.
To say that the quarterback position is the only problem is stupid. The Bears have plenty of issues on the offensive line. They can't protect the quarterback or help out the running game and they get penalized a lot for false starts and holding calls.
We can't forget about the wide receivers. The two top receivers on the depth chart right now are Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd. Booker was the last Bear to catch for 1000 yards. He did so in 2002.
This team has a lot of woes on the offense and I never brought up the running game. Only time will tell if the Bears offense will have things figured out or not.
The Bears open the regular season on the road on Sunday night against their opponent from Super Bowl XLI, the Indianapolis Colts. The Bears have some tough games at home as they face Tennessee, Jacksonville, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay. On the road, they'll face Houston, Carolina, St. Louis and Atlanta.

New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears- The Bears/Saints rivalry has become a new rivalry to pop up on the NFL radar. We saw these two teams clash in the NFC Title game in 2007 and last year, the two battled it out. Now we reach this point at week 15 and the Saints already have a playoff spot wrapped up, or are still fighting for one. It will be interesting to see if the Saints are still fighting for a playoff spot, will the Bears play a spoiler?- 8:15 PM ET on NFL Network
Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars- I hope the Jags are thanking the NFL Gods right now. It's not a fun time playing December football in Lambeau Field- 1 PM ET on FOX
Detroit Lions at Indianapolis Colts- Ohhh boy! Peyton Manning is going to have a field day passing against that Detroit secondary.

Rhodes signs 33.5 million extension from Jets- New York safety Kerry Rhodes signed a 5-year $33.5 million dollar extension on Thursday, making him the highest paid safety in the league. In three seasons with the Jets, Rhodes has recorded 213 tackles, eight sacks and 10 interceptions- New York Times
Another Bears linebacker wanting money situation???- The Bears are $16 million under the salary cap and Brian Urlacher wants a new contract. Urlacher didn't show up for the start of voluntary work outs. He's making close to $4 million this season (just like last season) and he is signed through 2011. Hobson signs with Patriots- Former Jet linebacker Victor Hobson signed a one year contract with the New England Patriots on Monday. Hobson had 48 tackles for the Jets last season- New York Daily News
The Washington Redskins defeated my beloved Chicago Bears by a score of 24-16. This is without a doubt an emotional win for the Redskins. Just days earlier was the emotional funeral of safety Sean Taylor. Nothing could be bigger for the Redskins than for them to go out there and win.
This was also a big win for the Redskins because it keeps them alive in the NFC Wild Card hunt. Every win is vital during the final month of the season.
The Bears
As for the Bears, if they weren't out of the hunt now, they might as well be now. I'm sure some of Bears fans have given up now at this point. To be honest, I gave up after the Sunday night debacle against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Bears are just flat out awful. Anybody who says that Grossman was the problem is wrong (that includes me). The offensive line is just offensive. Granted the defense has injury issues, but it shouldn't matter. They're not as good of a team as they were last year.
Didn't Watch The Game
Yes, I didn't watch the game. I live at college and we have cable. Therefore, no NFL Network for the dude from Oh No Romo!
This is a complete crock of crap! I can't watch my team suck it up on cable television, that's ridicoulous.
What's worse, my family has Direct TV and can watch the NFL Network, meanwhile I can't. Sure I could go to a bar, but it's crappy outside from the snow, I'm not going out, not before finals, that's for sure.
I could bitch and complain, but nothing will happen. I could start a petition, but it won't work. There's just some things where money wins.

Chicago Bears defeat Denver Broncos in OT, 37-34- Let me start out by saying this, I don't know what to believe anymore. Beardo led two late drives downfield to give the Bears the victory in overtime. I don't know what to think anymore.
I do know this, all those promos that tell all NFL fans to "Send their favorite player to Hawaii" have convinced me to vote Grossman in to the Pro Bowl. Before you go and accuse me of taking crack, hear me out.
My plan is to vote Grossman to the Pro Bowl. Once he gets in, he will be lost in Hawaii and I will never see him in a Bears uniform again. It's an evil plan, but I am an evil man.
New England Patriots defeat Philadelphia Eagles, 31-28 - Thank you for playing the game otherwise known as "YOU......CAN'T.........WIN!!!!!" You don't get a prize, but thank you for playing. Message from FBI Director: Winners don't use drugs!
Seriously though, will the Patriots lose? Here is a look at their remaining schedule:
Baltimore Ravens- They will be spotted 15 points, 20 if Kyle Boller starts.
Pittsburgh Steelers- They have some hope. Only some though.
New York Jets- No loss is worse than one to a division foe. If the Mangini's come to play, there is some hope. But Big Bad Bill is looking for some revenge for the SpyGate controversy.
Miami Dolphins- There is a ton of pressure on this team to win a game. There will be even more pressure on them to beat the Patriots and keep them from going undefeated.
New York Giants- There's somewhat of a chance, but nobody will know since half of the country can't get the NFL Network.
Oakland Raiders defeat Kansas City Chiefs, 20-17- Major props to Chiefs rookie Kolby Smith, he had 150 yards rushing against the Raiders. The Chiefs certainly won't have to worry about the running back position now.
Cleveland Browns defeat Houston Texans, 27-17- Why aren't people talking about Derek Anderson? He already has 22 touchdown passes this season, fourth best in the NFL. Plus wide receiver Braylon Edwards has 11 touchdown receptions this season, tied for third best in the NFL.
We need to give this team some more love. They have a favorable schedule and have an opportunity to make the playoffs.

Rams pick up first win of the season, shock the Saints- I really wanted to pick the Rams to win this weekend and I didn't. Now, I look like a moron (I already did). Heck, Steven Jackson had a touchdown pass in the game. Congratulations to the Rams for their first win.

Sunday Night Football Recap: New Orleans Saints defeat Seattle Seahawks, 28-17- BOO-YAH! Congratulations on a win Saints. You now have more wins than the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins. For that, you too get a highlight.
ROMO ALERT: Tony Romo threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to the Patriots.
Week five has mostly left us. With the exception of the Monday Night Football game, taking place later on tonight, it's safe to assume that the week is over.
Time for some thoughts on Week 5:
Chicago Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers, 27-20- Wow, I'm a Bears fan and I never saw it coming. Brian Griese, who looks like Mr. Roper from 'Enter the Dragon', had two touchdown passes.
The Bears needed this win and they certainly went into Lambeau Field and got the job done. Cornerback Charles Tillman forced two fumbles, which helped the Bears get back into the game.
Also, Brett Favre tied (not passed like previously mentioned) George Blanda for most interceptions All-Time. A big congratulations to him.
Washington Redskins blow out the Detroit Lions, 34-3- What a great game for Jason Campbell, 23 of 29, 248 yards and two touchdowns. Plus check out this video from yesterday's game.
As for Detroit, their offense shut down faster than a power outage at a Dave Matthews Band concert. They had 11 first downs and 144 total net yards. Quarterback Jon Kitna threw two picks. Like I said on Friday, I'm still not sold on the Lions.
Houston Texans defeat the Miami Dolphins on a last second field goal by Kris Brown, 22-19- Great game for Ronnie Brown, 114 yards on 23 carries and one touchdown.
The Texans scored only one touchdown. Brown had five field goals and that includes the 57-yarder that he kicked with one second left.
The bigger story is the fact that the Dolphins are 0-5 and their quarterback Trent Green got knocked out of the game. The good news is that he's ok.
Pittsburgh Steelers shut out the Seattle Seahawks, 21-0- Great work for the Steelers, I did call this game.
New York Giants defeated New York Jets, 35-24- Did the Giants win, or did the Jets lose?
San Diego destroyed the Denver Broncos, 41-3- Ooooh, that looks like it hurt.
