Chicago Bears 17 - Pittsburgh Steelers 14- A Robbie Gould field goal kept the Bears from going 0-2. Am I happy? You bet I am! Oh and no interceptions for Jay Cutler.
Houston Texans 34 - Tennessee Titans 31- It was a four touchdown day for Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. This is not a good start for the Titans. They get the Jets in the Meadowlands this weekend. Could the Titans go 0-3? Who knows!
New York Jets 16 - New England Patriots 9- MARK SANCHEZ IS 2-0! The Jets fans rejoice! Oh and Tom Brady has lost his first regular season game since Dec. 14, 2006. Quite a long time for sure...
Minnesota Vikings 27 - Detroit Lions 13- So it's 19 straight losses now for the Lions. The magic number is 26.
New Orleans Saints 44 - Philadelphia Eagles 22- Three touchdown passes for Drew Brees. That's nine touchdown passes in two games.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: New York Giants 33 - Dallas Cowboys 31- Awful day for the namesake. Romo threw three picks. Eli Manning played terrific. He threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns.

NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: New York Giants
It's still a surprise to me how the Giants, led by Eli Manning won a Super Bowl in the 2007 season. Let me repeat that...Eli Manning won a Super Bowl!
More surprising was the fact that the Giants won the NFC East in 2008. They did more than win it, they dominated!
The Giants finished in the top five in scoring offense and defense. Manning completed 60 percent of his passes and went to his first Pro Bowl year last season. That's how good the Giants were in 2008. Of course, that's how it went in the regular season!.
The Giants were knocked out in the divisional round by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants failed to capitalize on their top seed in the NFC.
It's 2009 now and who knows what to expect from the Giants. The Eagles are considered by some the favorite to win the East. The East has always been competitive. It should be interesting to see how the Giants do in 2009.

The Divisional Showdown: Eagles at Giants
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants- Sunday at 1 PM ET on FOX
So we have a divisional showdown to determine who goes on to the NFC Title game. These are two very good teams. This season, it is all about the Giants. The defending Super Bowl champions have had an excellent 2008 season. They're a terrific defense, even without Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora. Brandom Jacobs, Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw had a good year, with Jacobs and Ward both running for over 1,000 yards.
Earth, Wind and Fire (the backs not the band) are the key for the Giants. The three backs combined for 2469 yards and 18 touchdowns rushing. The key is Jacobs. He's the star of the trio. The Eagles will do everything in their power to stop them.
The Eagles were considered goners by a lot of people. Both Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid were politely asked by the Philly fans to get the hell out of town. The Eagles played excellent football down the stretch, even with a heartbreaking one-yard short loss to the Redskins, to pick up the sixth playoff spot in the NFC.
The Eagles found themselves in the playoffs after thrashing the Cowboys 44-6. Over the weekend, the Eagles knocked off the Vikings in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Now the ultimate showdown is on.
The key for the Eagles is their offense. Once again, the Eagles are a top 10 offense for this season. McNabb in fact threw for 3916 yards, a career high. He also completed 345 passes this season, also a career high. McNabb is going to Brian Westbrook early and often. Westbrook is by far the Eagles biggest threat.
One factor that also needs to be considered is the battle of teacher and pupil. I of course mean the battle between Jim Johnson (Eagles Defensive Coordinator) and Steve Spagnuolo (Giants Defensive Coordinator). These two will be ready to go at each other on Sunday.
PREDICTION: The match-up between the two is at 1-1 for this season. The Eagles won the last time these two faced each other in the playoffs. I like and have respect for both teams. This has the chance to be a great game. However, I'm picking the Giants to beat the Eagles.

The Mondays: Falcons clinch spot in Wild Card
Atlanta Falcons 24 - Minnesota Vikings 17- Congratulations goes to the Falcons for clinching a berth in the NFC playoffs. This team has made the ultimate turnaround. The 2007 season was awful. Whether it was the Mike Vick trial or Bobby Petrino leaving for Arkansas, this team had a lot to overcome. Head coach Mike Smith has this team on the right track. With players like Michael Turner, John Abraham, Roddy White and rookie quarterback Matt Ryan, this team has a chance to be a force in the NFC for quite a few years.
Tennessee Titans 31 - Pittsburgh Steelers 14- This game should have been closer, but the Steelers had a terrible day with turnovers, particularly Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers quarterback was picked twice (one returned for a touchdown) and fumbled several times (losing the ball twice). The Titans are the top seed, the Steelers are the second seed. These teams are both very good, but neither in my opinion are a solid contender for the Super Bowl in this unpredictable AFC.
San Diego Chargers 41 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24- The Bucs chances are hurt by the loss on Sunday. The Chargers are still alive in the AFC West hunt. Here's why...
Buffalo Bills 30 - Denver Broncos 23- Two fourth quarter touchdowns by the Bills in the fourth quarter made the ultimate difference in the game. Now the Broncos find themselves with their backs against the wall. They face the Chargers this week to determine the AFC West champion. The Chargers are a game back. We're witnessing a collapse by the Broncos. They've had a chance to wrap up the division for a couple of weeks now and they still haven't done it. I'll be amazed if the Broncos beat the Chargers, because they are not playing like a playoff team. The Broncos have a lot of growing up to do.
Miami Dolphins 38 - Kansas City Chiefs 31- A valiant effort by the Chiefs in a freezing cold Arrowhead Stadium, but the Dolphins weren't about to have their playoff chances frozen. Chad Pennington had another three touchdown pass day for the Dolphins. Meanwhile, Tyler Thigpen threw for 320 yards in the Chiefs loss. The Dolphins now hold all the cards in the deck. They will face the Jets on Sunday in what could very well determine who wins the AFC East.
New England Patriots 47 - Arizona Cardinals 7- My brother said the Patriots would win by 40 before the game and he was right. Props to him.
Seattle Seahawks 13 - New York Jets 3- Not a good loss for the Jets, but then again all losses aren't that great. It was indeed the final home game for Mike Holmgren as head coach of the Seahawks. It was snowy in Seattle. Whether or not Holmgren comes back, there's no denying how great his coaching career has been. If he comes back, hey great. If he doesn't come back, happy trails and I hope the next time we see him, it will be at his enshrinement in Canton. Hopefully, Holmgren can close out his coaching career in Seattle with a win.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: New York Giants 34 - Carolina Panthers 28- Out of all the games played during week 16, this one had to be the best one. Believe me, there was a lot of great games played over the weekend. Both teams rushed for a combined 459 net yards. The Giants now have the top seed and homefield advantage in the NFC playoffs. Meanwhile, the Panthers need to beat the Saints on Sunday, or else they risk falling into the no.-5 seed in the NFC playoffs.
MONDAY NIGHT PICK: Oh come on, Bears over Packers! Do you really need to ask?

The Mondays: Titans go 8-0
Tennessee Titans 19 - Green Bay Packers 16- This game was settled in overtime when Rob Bironas kicked a game winning 41-yard field goal. The Titans are clearly the biggest surprise of this NFL season. Nobody is within a mile of the Titans in the AFC South. I'm unsure of the Titans being a legitimate contender. They have a tough defense and a good 1-2 combo at the running back position. However, it comes down to the quarterback spot. Vince Young has to return eventually. Can Kerry Collins really carry this team through the second half of this season?
New York Giants 35 - Dallas Cowboys 14- This is no time to panic yet, Cowboys fans! You have a bye week, which means you won't lose. You'll get Tony Romo back for the game against Washington. If the Cowboys lose in two weeks to the Redskins, then you can start to panic. Until then, be thankful you're 5-4. Meanwhile, this Giants team is very ferocious, especially on defense. The front four is the best in football. You know your defense is good when the defensive line can get to the quarterback.
Cincinnati Bengals 21 - Jacksonville Jaguars 19- The nightmare for Bengals fans is over. The Bengals have now won one straight game. Chances are, they probably won't win the division, nor get a playoff spot. The Bengals still have a chance though to save their season though. I still think the Bengals will win four games.
Atlanta Falcons 24 - Oakland Raiders 0- The only shutout of the day came on Sunday and it was for the Raiders. JaMarcus Russell had 31 yards passing for the Raiders in the losing effort. This season is turning into a disaster for the Raiders and it doesn't seem like there's an end in sight. Meanwhile, the Falcons are 5-3. They have a tough division test against next week against the Saints. This game could see an explosion for both offenses. I'm excited!
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP: Indianapolis Colts 18 - New England Patriots 15- The Colts scored a big win last night. They still have a ways to go before catching the Titans.

The Mondays: IT'S THE ELI MANNING ADEQUATELY-AWESOME SHOW!
New York Giants 21 - Pittsburgh Steelers 14- A field goal, a safety and a 2-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Boss in the fourth quarter made the difference for the Giants. The 12 points came in a five minute span. The Giants remain at the top of the NFC East. Things are going very well for the Giants going into their showdown next week against the Dallas Cowboys.
New Orleans Saints 37 - San Diego Chargers 32- Things look good for the Saints, but not so much for the Chargers. The Saints are keeping up with the rest of the NFC South. The Chargers shouldn't panic yet. If the Broncos continue to struggle, the Chargers could win the AFC West with an 8-8 record.
Baltimore Ravens 29 - Oakland Raiders 10- So how about that Joe Flacco guy? He's got some cool playing ability, that's for sure. Flacco threw one touchdown pass and ran another one in. He's slowly maturing into a good quarterback. It's not out of the realm of possibility for the Ravens to get in the playoff fray.
New England Patriots 23 - St. Louis Rams 16- The Rams played hard again on Sunday, but it wasn't enough. Marc Bulger threw for 300 yards on the Patriots defense. The Pats are now tied for first in the AFC East. Anything is possible at this point in the season.
Cleveland Browns 23 - Jacksonville Jaguars 17- I have a question. What's wrong with the Jags? They're 3-4 and now tied for third (or last if you're pessimistic) with the Houston Texans. The Jags have Cincy and Detroit for the next two weeks. If the Jags split, I can't see them making the playoffs.
There was no Sunday Night Game.

The Mondays: Washington wants to be cool
Washington Redskins 24 - Philadelphia Eagles 17- So...are the Redskins for real? Two weeks in a row, they've knocked off a division rival on the road. That is impressive, even for NFC East standards. Coach Jim Zorn has this team firing on all cylinders. In their next three games, the Redskins will play St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit. The Redskins could easily be 7-1 at the halfway point.
Tennessee Titans 13 - Baltimore Ravens 10- How about the Titans? They are off to an excellent start. I think what needs to be asked is if Vince Young is ready to come back and play. At this point, Kerry Collins is the hot pick.

They're 3-2 and could easily be 5-0, had they not lost close cames to Carolina and Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, things are just not looking good for the Lions. Quarterback Jon Kitna was benched in the third quarter and we got our first look at Dan Orlovski. He didn't have a lot of luck.

Matt Ryan is continuing to mature as quarterback. It helps that he has a good back in Michael Turner, who ran for 121 yards and one touchdown.
New York Giants 44 - Seattle Seahawks 6- The Giants have it going on and they don't look to be stumbling anytime soon. Eli Manning threw two touchdowns on Sunday. Something is wrong with the Seahawks. They're 1-3 to start the season. There's a lot to be concerned about in Seattle.
Denver Broncos 16 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13- The Broncos managed to play defense and won a close game.
ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys 31 - Cincinnati Bengals 22- This one shouldn't have been close, but the Cowboys did struggle. Tony Romo threw for 176 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Sunday Night Recap: Pittsburgh Steelers 26 - Jacksonville Jaguars 21- The Steelers stay strong in the AFC.

NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: New York Giants
Our long national nightmare is over. Today begins the first day of many more days to come. Today is the first day of our famous NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: the hottest thing to come at you this summer. Of course, it can only star yours truly. Without further waiting, I proclaim this day, July 14, 2008, as the unofficial start to the 2008 NFL season!
This week, we will profile the always popular NFC East. It's the division that sees more of Joe Buck than Ed Werder and Sal Paolantonio combined. I'll get to my namesake's team tomorrow, but today, we honor the defending Super Bowl champions...
It's hard to believe that our defending Super Bowl champions actually started the 2007 season under much uncertainty. This was a team that lost Tiki Barber to retirement, saw Michael Strahan hold out for most of training camp and saw scrutiny for quarterback Eli Manning and head coach Tom Coughlin.
This team got no love from me. After they started 0-2, I immediately discounted them from even making the playoffs. In hindsight, I regret this move a lot. This team really showed a lot of heart in the postseason. I'm never doubting Eli Manning again.
The Giants will open up the regular season at home on Thursday night against division foe Washington Redskins. On Oct. 5, they face their first tough opponent when they face the NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks. The week after, they'll go on the road to face the Cleveland Browns. Manning will also get a chance to face Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. We finally get a chance to see these two '04 rookies, who are now Super Bowl champions, go at it.
It's now time to do the favorite that the kids enjoy, the burning questions (yearbook style):

The Best of the Mondays: Week 2
So I'm doing week two of the Best of the Mondays. It is very exciting. I'm happy to do it. Oh, how it seemed to be so long ago. Matt Schaub was turning into a household name. The Giants started 0-2, GASP! So kick back, and enjoy.
Oh No Romo
- Houston Texans defeated the Carolina Panthers, 34-21- How about Matt Schaub, two touchdown passes and 228 yards passing. How about Andre Johnson, seven catches, 120 yards and two touchdowns. This team might surprise a lot of people come playoff time. Their next test will come against Indy at home, do I smell an upset?- Well it's the Colts.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the New Orleans Saints, 31-14- The Saints knocked me out of a Survival Pool. Thanks guys- Oh those Bucs! I'm never picking the Saints in a survival pool again.
- Arizona Cardinals defeated the Seattle Seahawks, 23-20- This is a joke, right?- How strange is it to see the Seahawks lose?
- Green Bay Packers destroyed the New York Giants, 35-14- I'm not a Brett Favre fan or a Packers fan, but Favre is certainly a winner- Don't worry, the re-match is better.
- ROMO ALERT: Tony Romo threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins- Yep......

The Best of the Mondays: Week 1
I've finally decided to do this after months and months of promises. I'm doing the best of the Mondays, my own Monday morning analysis of the week's games. Today, we go back to week one of the 2007 regular season. I'll give my own analysis of my analysis. Sounds stupid, doesn't it? I'll have my present day thoughts in italics.
My oh my how the time passes. Tony Romo picked apart the eventual Super Bowl champions. Kevin Everett's career and life were uncertain after his injury during the kickoff against Denver. Also, the Patriots destroyed the Jets in their first game of the regular season. (NOTE: The whole Spygate controversy started the afternoon that this post was made). Enjoy the post kiddies and I'll see you on Hump Day.

- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is certainly having fun with his new offensive weapons. His new three new wide receivers combined for 263 yards. Randy Moss led the team with 183 yards and one touchdown- Did Mangini get the last laugh?
New York Jet fans were cheering Kellen Clemons as he came into the game, replacing injured Chad Pennington. What is up with that?- No it had to be the hoodie!
How about that Ellis Hobbs, 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, longest in NFL History. Big props to Hobbs!- Woo, Ellis Hobbs! - The Chicago Bears lost to the San Diego Chargers 14-3. I am disappointed. They held LaDainian Tomlinson to 25 yards on the ground. The Bears offense needs to improve, or heads will roll- The Chargers were up and down early on, but they stuck it out and made it to the AFC title game.
- A big congratulations goes out to Houston Texans defensive end, Mario Williams, scoring his first touchdown on a fumble recovery. Way to go man. By the way, the Texans defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-3- Who knew that the Texans would be a big surprise in the NFL that season? Not I!
- Condolensces go out to Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett, who is recovering from surgery this morning after a helmut-to-helmut collison left him unconscious. Hopefully, it is nothing serious, but definitely keep him in your thoughts and prayers- I'm glad he made it through and is now walking again.
- ROMO ALERT: Tony Romo shined on Sunday Night (is Football Night), throwing for 345 yards and four touchdowns. The Cowboys won the game 45-35. It was definitely a great way to end a great Sunday- A lot of questions came up in regards to the competency of the Giants. Hindsight now tells us differently.
- Monday Night Picks: I'm picking the Baltimore Ravens over the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Francisco 49ers over the Arizona Cardinals- I went 1-1 on that night in case you forgot

Hump Day: Keeping the Schedule Thing Alive, Baby!
Just when you thought it was safe to come out of your home, Oh No Romo continues its look at the 2008 NFL Season. Yes, I did take a week off from the preview. Now with the NFL Draft over, I can give a better preview. I preview three games from each week However, I am back and today I will cover weeks seven and eight.

Tennessee Titans at Kansas City Chiefs- Two potentially playoff teams go at it in this midseason game. If Larry Johnson is healthy, if Brodie Croyle is good, if the Chiefs are good, this will be a good game- 1 PM ET on CBS
Indianapolis Colts at Green Bay Packers- Two quarterbacks going face-to-face. It's Peyton Manning against Brett Favre's replacement, Aaron Rodgers. That's assuming that Favre is still retired by then- 4:15 PM ET on CBS

The Mondays: Back in Business
Happy Monday to everyone out there in happy land!
Report: Titans and Cowboys close to trade with Pacman- Adam Schefter of the NFL Network has reported that the trade talks between Dallas and Tennessee are back on again. Schefter has reported from a source that the two sides are "considerably closer" to making a trade that would send suspended Titans cornerback to Dallas.
The deal could go down as early as Tuesday, which is expected to be the time that Jones applies for reinstatement into the NFL. It's too soon to tell if this trade will be good for the Cowboys, considering that Jones hasn't played since the 2006 season. This would be a good second chance for Jones- NFL.com
Shockey staying put in New York- Despite numerous rumors about the Giants possibly trading tight end Jeremy Shockey, the former U player seems to be staying put for now. Shockey is currently at home in Miami working out for the upcoming season. This is nothing new for Shockey, as he has done this every year since he's been in New York.
The Giants don't expect to see Shockey until some time in June when mini-camp starts. Unless things take a turn for the worse between Shockey and the organization, expect the tight end to be in mini-camp- New York Post
Naming rights for Cowboys new stadium still up in the air, The Oh No Romo Stadium still has hope- The Cowboys are talking with a few major companies in regards to the new stadium opening up in 2009 in Arlington. The leading candidate right now is AT&T, who is currently the official sponsor for the Cotton Bowl. Expect this deal to be huge!- Dallas Morning News
Giordano stays in Indianapolis- On Saturday, the Colts re-signed restricted free agent safety Matt Giordano to a one-year deal. Details weren't released as to how much the contract was worth. In 12 games last season, Giordano had 15 tackles and two interceptions, one of them an 83-yarder for a touchdown- Indianapolis Star
Sticking with the trend, Wilson stays in Detroit- The Lions re-signed restricted free agent cornerback Stanley Wilson to a one-year contract. Terms of the contract were not released. Wilson had 29 tackles in ten games for the 2007 season.
The Lions also signed punter Paul Ernster to a one-year contract and released cornerback Patrick Body- Detroit Free Press

How Wrong Am I? (The NFC Edition)
The NFL season is officially over. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DAMN IT WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Sorry folks, I'm good now. Since the season is over, it is time to do an entire recap on my picks for how each team team would do this season. Now we will play the game otherwise known as, HOW WRONG AM I? Today, the NFC edition.

Redemption is the Word That Defines the Super Bowl
The New York Giants are leaving Glendale, Ariz. as the Champions of the National Football League. They defeated the New England Patriots 17-14, in one of the hardest fought battles in recent memory.
This was an exciting game from start to finish. The fourth quarter was one of the best in Super Bowl history.
When I think about Super Bowl, it's all about redemption. The Giants represent the redemption theme perfectly.
Tom Coughlin redeemed himself and has proven that he is the right man to coach the Giants. Eli Manning proved he is the real deal in New York. When he struggled, he always fought back and never gave up.
When Manning stepped on to the field with less than three minutes left, the world's eyes were on him. When his team needed him the most, Manning stepped up and proved his worth not only to his team, but to all of his doubters, from analysts to sports writers and especially the fans.
Plexico Burress redeemed himself tonight when his team needed him the most. With less than 40 seconds left in the game, Burress caught his second pass of the game. That reception would prove to be the most important for the Giants as it was the go-ahead touchdown.
It just goes to show one thing and one thing only, it doesn't matter how many receptions you have. What really matters is scoring the final touchdown, the Super Bowl clinching touchdown.
This was a great game, easily among the three best Super Bowl games I've ever seen. It just had that feeling of a great Super Bowl. From start to finish, this was just exciting. Both teams should be proud to even have the chance to play. In the end though, it was Manning and the Giants who came out on top.

Final Post Before the Super Bowl
We are less than six hours away from the biggest game of the year. Tonight, the last game of the 2007 season will be played. The undefeated New England Patriots go head-to-head with the hot New York Giants in the Arizona desert.
When the sun sets on Glendale tonight, only one team will be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, the most coveted trophy in all of professional football.
With that in mind, I will be making my final pick of the 2007 season. My what a season it has been for this young blogger. It's been an up year, it's been a down year, but most importantly, I need to finish this season with a win.
It doesn't matter if you're really good or really bad. What's important is that you finish this season with a win.
It's time for my ULTIMATE PREDICTION....
The Giants win by two points and wait for it, Stephen Gostkowski misses the game winning field goal as time expires. Now that's a bold prediction folks.

The Mondays: Two Teams Left
Super Bowl XLII, it is more than a roman numeral, it is the biggest game of the 2007 NFL season. For two teams, it's the chance to say they went through the gauntlet and need only 60 more minutes to reach the top of the mountain.
In the end, only one team will leave Glendale, Arizona with the Lombardi Trophy. Here are the two teams that will meet in Glendale in 13 days:
New England Patriots- From week one up until now, the Patriots have been the best team in football. They have gone out and won every game they played in, both in the regular and postseason. They started the season out strong, dominating their way to the #1 seed in the AFC, which guaranteed them a Foxboro route to the Super Bowl.
The Patriots saw two dragons enter their kingdom, two teams with one goal in mind, knock out the king. Ultimately, the Patriots slayed their challengers. Their reward, a trip to Glendale for the right to gain immortality.
No matter what the Pats do, there's no denying their death grip over the other 31 NFL teams. Since September, all the talk has been about the Patriots, from Spygate, to the accusations of running up the score and to their will to win week-after-week.
The Patriots have won three Super Bowls this decade. No other team has won even two this decade. One thing is true about the Patriots, they are a dynasty, much like the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970s and the Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s. A team like this doesn't come around very often. Only the future will tell us how we remember these Patriots.
New York Giants- The Giants have dealt with many issues this season. This season, many people (including myself), were calling for the firing of Giants coach Tom Coughlin. Questions were raised continuously throughout the season as to whether or not Eli Manning was the star quarterback for the Giants. So many questions were asked and over the course of the season, they were answered.
When the Giants made the playoffs, not a lot of people believed in them. They went on the road to Tampa and after struggling in the first quarter, they worked hard and came out of Wild Card Weekend with a win.
The Giants weren't given much of a chance against their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys. Once again, Eli Manning and the Giants pulled through and stunned the Cowboys. The Giants would be on their way to Lambeau Field for a showdown with the Green Bay Packers.
It was a bitter-cold day on Sunday in Green Bay. Temperatures dipping so low, nostrils freeze up when taking a breath. The two teams battled hard into the fiercely-cold January evening. In the end, only one would come out on top. For Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, the third time was truly a charm. The 47-yard field goal not only vindicated the former CFL player, but a coach, a quarterback and an entire team.
Manning has a chance to do something his older brother Peyton has already done, win a Super Bowl. However, if Eli wins, he would be doing so in a shorter time period. Does it make him greater than Peyton, not necessarily. It is always harder to get out of the shadow of an older brother. Whatever doubts may plague the younger Manning, all will be removed if he hoists the Lombardi Trophy.
When the 13-day waiting period ends and the two teams line up for kickoff, 60 minutes will determine whether a dynasty lives or a quarterback and a team silences all critics.
In the end, only one team will leave Glendale, Arizona with the Lombardi Trophy. Here are the two teams that will meet in Glendale in 13 days:

No matter what the Pats do, there's no denying their death grip over the other 31 NFL teams. Since September, all the talk has been about the Patriots, from Spygate, to the accusations of running up the score and to their will to win week-after-week.
The Patriots have won three Super Bowls this decade. No other team has won even two this decade. One thing is true about the Patriots, they are a dynasty, much like the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970s and the Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s. A team like this doesn't come around very often. Only the future will tell us how we remember these Patriots.
New York Giants- The Giants have dealt with many issues this season. This season, many people (including myself), were calling for the firing of Giants coach Tom Coughlin. Questions were raised continuously throughout the season as to whether or not Eli Manning was the star quarterback for the Giants. So many questions were asked and over the course of the season, they were answered.
When the Giants made the playoffs, not a lot of people believed in them. They went on the road to Tampa and after struggling in the first quarter, they worked hard and came out of Wild Card Weekend with a win.
The Giants weren't given much of a chance against their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys. Once again, Eli Manning and the Giants pulled through and stunned the Cowboys. The Giants would be on their way to Lambeau Field for a showdown with the Green Bay Packers.
It was a bitter-cold day on Sunday in Green Bay. Temperatures dipping so low, nostrils freeze up when taking a breath. The two teams battled hard into the fiercely-cold January evening. In the end, only one would come out on top. For Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, the third time was truly a charm. The 47-yard field goal not only vindicated the former CFL player, but a coach, a quarterback and an entire team.
Manning has a chance to do something his older brother Peyton has already done, win a Super Bowl. However, if Eli wins, he would be doing so in a shorter time period. Does it make him greater than Peyton, not necessarily. It is always harder to get out of the shadow of an older brother. Whatever doubts may plague the younger Manning, all will be removed if he hoists the Lombardi Trophy.
When the 13-day waiting period ends and the two teams line up for kickoff, 60 minutes will determine whether a dynasty lives or a quarterback and a team silences all critics.

The Mondays: And Then There Were Four
Happy Monday to all, it is the one and only, partying it up with you guys on this Monday morning. We now have our final four. First though, we need to discuss the games from Sunday.
San Diego Chargers knock off Indianapolis Colts, 28-24- First of all, yes I called it, but I never saw this coming. I never anticipated the Chargers losing LT and Rivers and still have the chance to keep the Colts down.
Marvin Harrison looked awful in his return, but that's to be expected when you're out for three months. The Colts did everything they could to go out there and win, but it didn't happen. It seems like the Chargers have their number.
New York Giants defeat Dallas Cowboys, 21-17- Any negative things I said about the New York Giants, I would like the opportunity to take that back. This team came to play today, especially quarterback Eli Manning. Today, Manning threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions.
AFC Title Game
San Diego Chargers at New England Patriots, 3:30 ET on CBS- It's a week two rematch, who knows how this might go.
NFC Title Game
New York Giants at Green Bay Packers, 6:30 ET on Fox- This has the makings of a great game.
