So it's a new season, and we take a look at the worst teams after week 1. Don't read too much into the first couple of weeks of the Rankings. Please keep that in mind.
1. St. Louis Rams- They went 2-14 last season and they got shut out in an ugly game against division foe Seattle Seahawks. Things aren't looking good for the Rams this season.
2. Detroit Lions- The Lions have lost 18 straight games, dating back to the 2007 season. It makes sense that they'd be on this list.
3. Buffalo Bills- It was an ugly preseason for the Bills. And while they were leading on Monday night against the Patriots, they couldn't close the game out. This will not be a pretty season.
4. Cincinnati Bengals- I'll let this play say my thoughts about the Bengals at four.
5. Cleveland Browns- They hung in there with the Vikings for a half. Then Adrian Peterson ran them over.

Tuesdays with Romo: Football won't be the same without Patrick Swayze...I think
New England Patriots 25 - Buffalo Bills 24- Two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter for the Patriots made the difference. Tom Brady didn't get hurt, so all is happy in the state of Massachusetts.
San Diego Chargers 24 - Oakland Raiders 20- This game felt like an eternity. It was hard to get excited. Thank goodness it is all over.
That is the week 1 though.

The Mondays: Emotional day for Bryant
Week four saw many great moments. Some were good, some very emotional, some even surprising.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30 - Green Bay Packers 21- This day belonged to Bucs kicker Matt Bryant, who lost his infant son unexpectedly earlier last week. Bryant kicked three key field goals, including a 24-yard go-ahead in the fourth quarter to help the Bucs win. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Bryant. He goes out on Sunday and plays. Should he have stayed home? I don't know because it is not up to me. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bryant and his wife during these tough times.
Buffalo Bills 31 - St. Louis Rams 14- The Rams are falling apart. Even the Rams know that they are unraveling. The Rams actually led this game at halftime, but they were shut out in the second half. Meanwhile, the Bills are in good shape, despite two straight scares against the Raiders and the Rams. However, a win against Arizona next week will put the Bills at 5-0 for the season, going into the bye week.
San Diego 28 - Oakland Raiders 18- So...Is Lane Kiffen going to be fired now? I give the Raiders credit, they stuck with the Chargers. This team has a lot of potential, but we'll see what happens now. I don't think Al Davis will fire him. I could be senile with that thought.
Romo Alert: Washington Redskins 26 - Dallas Cowboys 24- Okay, even I admit that I never saw this coming. The big story has to be the defense on the Cowboys side. They couldn't stop Jason Campbell in the air and they couldn't stop Clinton Portis on the ground. Are teams starting to figure out the Cowboys defense?
Sunday Night Recap: Bears defeat Eagles- I never saw this coming either. This was a defensive battle, but the offenses weren't that bad. Kyle Orton threw three touchdown passes on Sunday night, which only happens once in a blue moon. The Bears are now tied for first in the North with the win.

The Mondays: Patriots lose, I'm out of a survival game on Yahoo
Greetings all, another exciting Sunday has come and gone.
Miami Dolphins 38 – New England Patriots 13- Go figure, the one time I take Ronnie Brown out of the line up, he scores five touchdowns, one of them via passing. This is a huge win for the Dolphins. I swear, I never saw it coming. Does this mean trouble for the Patriots? It seems highly unlikely at this point, but if the losing becomes a trend, then Foxboro should prepare for a full-fledged panic attack.
Jacksonville Jaguars 23 - Indianapolis Colts 21- For some strange reason, the Colts and Jags are 1-2. The bigger surprise is the Colts. Wait, the Jags beating the Colts on the road is the bigger surprise. The Colts are now 0-2 in their new stadium. If I'm a Colts fan, I'm slightly concerned.
Buffalo Bills 24 - Oakland Raiders 23- The Raiders surprised me on Sunday. They had a strong chance of walking into Buffalo and knocking off one of the rising AFC teams. Trent Edwards and Marshawn Lynch came through when needed. Rian Lindell made it count and won the game on a field goal as time expired. What becomes of Raiders coach Lane Kiffin? Foxsports.com is reporting that sources have said Lane Kiffin could be fired as early as Monday. The Raiders are falling apart and it is a sad story.
Atlanta Falcons 38 - Kansas City Chiefs 14- Seriously, who saw the Falcons starting the season 2-1? I know it's not much right now, but it's a good start. Matt Ryan is showing some promise. The rookie quarterback threw one touchdown pass on the day, no interceptions. Michael Turner had a good day for the Falcons. The former San Diego Charger rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns on the day.
SUNDAY NIGHT RECAP/ROMO ALERT: Dallas Cowboys 27 - Green Bay Packers 16- It was pretty much all Cowboys for most of the game. Tony Romo threw for 260 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Aaron Rodgers threw for 290 yards, but no touchdowns.

NFL Preview Show Extravaganza: Buffalo Bills
We close out the first division of the AFC. We finish up the AFC East with the Tornt.........Buffalo Bills.
In a division decimated by a dominant New England Patriots, it was the Bills that ended up being second chair in the AFC East. The Bills finished the season 7-9.
They started the regular season 1-4 and appeared to be floating in the basement of the division. However, the Bills would reel off six of eight wins and appeared to be in playoff contention. The Bills would lose their final three games and missed out on a Wild Card berth. Changes are in store for the 2008 season.
It appears as though the JP Losman experiment is all but over in Buffalo. As a rookie, Trent Edwards stepped up as quarterback, going 5-4 in 10 games, throwing seven touchdowns. The third round draft pick in 2007 showed much promise. With a star-in-the-making running back and a solid receiving corp, Edwards could have a breakout year in 2008.
The Bills open up the 2008 season at home when they face the Seattle Seahawks. At home, the Bills will face San Diego, Cleveland and Oakland. On the road, the Bills will face St. Louis, KC and Denver.

The Mondays: It's all about the team
Happy Monday to all who seek one. Woo, this is the final week for the regular school year. I head home Friday. Then 10 days later, I'll be back for summer school. Don't worry though, I plan on keeping the updates going throughout the summer. Including m preview extravaganza.
Teamwork, Teamwork, Teamwork- Interesting piece in Sunday's Baltimore Sun in regards to how things are going for the Ravens under new coach, John Harbaugh. The first year coach is laying out plans for improving the team, including improving the work ethic. I for one wish coach Harbaugh good luck. I think he's up for the challenge- Baltimore Sun
Johnson easing back in to Chiefs running back spot- The Chiefs are taking it easy on star running back Larry Johnson. Johnson is coming back from a broken foot that he injured at the midway point of the 2007 NFL season. The running back position is one that shouldn't be of much concern for the Chiefs. Kolby Smith stepped in and showed some signs of potential. The Chiefs have bigger issues they need to address, like the defense and the quarterback spot. Only time will tell if the Chiefs will have a good season or not- Kansas City Star
Jason Taylor the new Mr. Hollywood- Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor is becoming a Hollywood star in front of our very own eyes. He's partying it up with the celebrity elite, including wait for it....Denzel Washington! Taylor wants to take the Hollywood route, he's been taking acting classes as well. Hey Jason, if you're looking for a role, I might have a screenplay available for you- Foxsports.com
Bills have lowest average price of tickets in the league- The Bills have the cheapest ticket prices in the NFL. The average is $46.26, $20 less than the league average. The Patriots are #1 in average ticket prices with $90.89- The Buffalo News
Pats start OTA today- Interesting find here by the Reiss' Pieces blog on the Boston Globe web site. The defending AFC champion New England Patriots begin passing camp today. According to the Globe, it's all apart of the OTAs or organized team activity, which takes place before training camp. These OTAs are optional for all players and are allowed by the NFL. Nothing really of note here, just need some filler- Boston Globe

Hump Day: Headin' down the homestretch
Would you believe that we're almost done with our 16 game preview of the 2008 NFL season? Well believe it! On Monday, we gave a look at weeks 11 and 12. Today, we will take a look at weeks 13 and 14.
Week 13 will be significant because that's when Thanksgiving is. Three games are scheduled on Thanksgiving. However, I only plan on profiling one. So I'll give you the other two. They are: Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions- 12:30 PM ET on CBS and Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles- 8:15 PM ET on NFL Network
Here's a look at the rest of week 13...
Week 13- Thurs. Nov. 27, 30 and Dec. 1
Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys- This will be without a doubt the game to watch as you're going back for seconds. Running back Julius Jones will make his return to Dallas for the first time since signing as a free agent to the Seahawks.
Also of note, this will be the final Thanksgiving Day game in Texas Stadium. Will the tears shed? Not yet! You should expect a great game, nonetheless- 4:15 PM ET on FOX
Indianapolis Colts at Cleveland Browns- This game narrowly beat out the Jaguars and Texans Monday Night game. The Colts are going to Cleveland. In case you haven't heard, it can be pretty cold in late November- 1 PM ET on CBS
Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots- If those Patriots are still undefeated by the time week 13 rolls around, I'll be shocked. You know the rest, Brady vs. Burger-meister- 4:15 PM ET on CBS

Hump Day: THE NEW SCHEDULES ARE HERE, THE NEW SCHEDULES ARE HERE!!!!!!
This is the happiest day of the year here at Oh No Romo! It is the day that the schedule for the 2008 NFL season comes out. I am ecstatic and thrilled.
Instead of posting the entire schedule here, I'll give you three games to watch for each week of the year. That would be a total of 51 games to watch for this season. I'll do the first two weeks today. Then the next two weeks will be on Friday and I'll continue from there.
Week 1
Washington Redskins at New York Giants- The Super Bowl champs open at home against a division foe- September 4 on NBC at 7 PM ET
Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers- A tough test for the Texans on the road. A win at Heinz Field would be a great way to kick of the Texans season- September 7 on CBS at 1 PM ET
Dallas Cowboys at Cleveland Browns- The Browns open their 2008 campaign at home against the defending NFC East champion Cowboys. It's a great early test for both teams and we'll see who starts the season 1-0- September 7 on FOX at 4:15 PM ET

First Post in Almost a Month
Yeah I know, it has been a long while since I made my last post. Well, I have a little bit more free time to work with, especially with the NFL draft coming up in a few weeks. Here's some headlines for you fine folks out there.

Friday Briefs: Making the Picks
I know you are probably wondering why I haven't been posting on the site as of lately. Well, I'm at home, where the dial up grows and my impatience wears on me. That being said, I will be heading down to Chicago on Sunday and will not be around to make my usual 'Mondays' post. You won't be seeing me do a recap for week 16. Bills and Patriots Preview
The Buffalo Bills have a chance to play spoiler and end the New England Patriots season this Sunday night.
The Patriots (9-0) and the Bills (5-4) are first and second in the AFC East. The two previously battled in week three, when the Patriots blew out the Bills, 38-7. In that game, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes, including two to wide receiver Randy Moss.
It was the Bills third straight loss and they started the season 0-3. The last time the Bills started the regular season 0-3, it was in 2004. The Bills would pick it up and finish the regular season 9-7, just missing out on the playoffs.
Since the loss to the Patriots, the Bills have won five of six. They’re only loss was to the Dallas Cowboys, 25-24, on Monday night in week five.
No Lynch?
Bills rookie running back Marshawn Lynch is not expected to play on Sunday night after spraining his ankle in the fourth quarter against the Miami Dolphins.
Lynch did not practice on Wednesday.
The rookie from California has had an excellent season so far, running for 751 yards and six touchdowns.
How much will the Patriots win by?
In eight of their first nine games this season, the Patriots have put up at least 30 points per game. In week nine against the Colts, the Patriots put up their lowest scoring effort of the season, only 24 points in the victory.

get them past the Colts.
The Patriots are the top scoring offense in the NFL, with 355 points. The other 31 teams don’t even come within 100 points of the Patriots.

Tuesdays with Romo: Bills Prepare For Showdown With Dolphins
The Buffalo Bills find themselves in a spot where they haven’t been in quite sometime, second place in the AFC East. Granted now, they’ve had that spot for over a month now, but it seems like now the Bills have hit their stride.
The Bills will take their three game winning streak to Miami on Sunday to take on the 0-8 Dolphins. This game could be a challenging one for the Bills.
The Dolphins are in dire need for a first win and as each week passes, the Dolphins can only be more motivated to pick up that first win and not be the first team in NFL history to go 16-0 and 0-16 in the regular season.
Offense Head-to-Head
When it comes to the offense, neither team has scored a lot of points this season. The Bills average just 16 points per game, sixth worst in the NFL and worst in the AFC East. As for the Dolphins, they average about 21 points per game, second place in the AFC East.

The OTHER Rookie Running Back
With all the Rookie of the Year talk about Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch has stepped up significantly for the Bills.
The first round pick from California is fourth in the NFL in rushing yards with 690 and second in rushing attempts with 177. Lynch has also carried the ball the most times without fumbling this season.
On Sunday, Lynch ran for a career high of 153 yards on 29 carries for one touchdown. Lynch has carried the ball at least 20 times in six of eight games this season.
During the Bills three-game winning streak, Lynch has carried the ball 77 times for 317 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bills will take their three game winning streak to Miami on Sunday to take on the 0-8 Dolphins. This game could be a challenging one for the Bills.
The Dolphins are in dire need for a first win and as each week passes, the Dolphins can only be more motivated to pick up that first win and not be the first team in NFL history to go 16-0 and 0-16 in the regular season.

Tuesday's with Romo: Our Folk-Hero and A New Chapter in the Romo Legacy
Let me start this recap out by saying, Wow! This is a definite nomination for the Monday Night Game of the Year. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills, 25-24.
Nick Folk won the game for the Cowboys on a 53-yard field goal. What made it amazing was the fact that he had to kick it twice (Dick Jauron called a timeout for the first attempt).
Yes, Tony Romo did throw five interceptions, but he still led his team back when they needed him. The Cowboys were down eight points, late in the game.
Patrick Crayton caught a 4-yard touchdown pass, with 20 seconds left. After recovering an onside kick. The Cowboys got close enough for Folk to be the hero (That's a very popular term right now).
This was a great game. The Bills did the best they could. They forced six turnovers, but no offensive touchdowns. Terrence McGee ran back a touchdown that went 103-yards. George Wilson and Chris Kelsay both returned an interception for a touchdown.
ROMO ALERT: 309 yards, five interceptions and two touchdown passes.

Special Report: Kevin Everett Injury Update
I mentioned earlier today that Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett sustained a serious spinal cord injury on a kickoff return in yesterday's home opener against the Denver Broncos.
According to doctors, Everett might never walk again.
"A best case scenario is full recovery, but not likely," orthropedic surgeon Andrew Cappucino said, "I believe there will be some permeanent neurological deficit."
Everett's injuries are still being considered life-threatening.
This is no doubt a terrible story. It hurts the soul to see a young, promising player suffer such a crippling injury. It does not matter who you root for, or even if you are a football fan, this is truly tragic for all.
To honor Everett, we will leave his picture on the site for the rest of the week and well into the weekend.

The Monday's Part II: The Buffalo Bills
It's part two of The Monday's edition, here at Oh No Romo! I realized that I did a Chargers preview earlier this month. Therefore, we move on to the final division of our NFL Preview Show Extravaganza, the AFC East.
The Bills finished the 2006 season 7-9, third place in the ever competitive AFC East. To replace former RB Willis McGahee, the Bills drafted California RB Marshawn Lynch, in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In this year's draft, they also picked up Penn State LB Paul Pozluzny and Stanford QB Trent Edwards.
The Bills open up at home against the Denver Broncos. They have home games against the Cowboys, the Giants and the Ravens (A must watch game for sure). On the road, the Bills will face the Redskins, the Jaguars and the Steelers.
Time for the hottest hit of the summer, the burnin yearbook style questions:
